Dyno Run!!

A buddy of mine invited me to a Pontiac GTO Dyno Day at a local shop.

Mongillo Motors. In New Haven, Ct after meeting the owners and watching afew runs i decided to throw the car up on there, paid for 3 pulls, 2 4th gear pulls, one 5th..

here are the videos of pulls

Click Me 5th gear dyno pull

Click Me 4th gear dyno pull

Mustang MD-1100
Chassis Dynamometer
79* @ 50% humidity no correction needed.. the car bounced the speed limiter in 5th @ 6777
23 rpms prior to 6800.

this was the first pull of a 5.0 in this shop.

100% STOCK
379rwhp @6500 rpm
362# @ ???? ( forgot rpm )

to 4th gear pulls we done HOT, right after the 5th gear pull with NO cool down..
those 359 then 360 rwhp in 4th, so all thre runs were done in about a less than 10 min back to back to back
dyno sheets are getting emailed to me soon.

Brought mine to a dyno this weekend. Same thing happened to me. Tried it in 5th but it hit the speed limiter so we had to use 4th.

I had 88* w/ 15% humidity. I think my best pull was 371hp and 353lb ft. Im getting the magnaflow comp series catback and magnaflow xpipe so im gonna bring it back after that to see the numbers

alot of lightly moded gto's putting down around the same numbers

the shop specializes in LS motors and MUSTANGS! they have been on the covers of many magazines.
MM&FF, 5.0, to name a few

5.0 M6 3.55 235/50R18

I can just barely make the power peak at 6600 rpm as the car starts closing the throttle around 6620 rpm or 147 mph in anticipation of hitting the 149 mph limit. We modified a stock tune by removing the speed limiter and power peak is 6600 rpm on my engine under that days conditions. I doubt a 245/45R19 Car would make it due to the taller rubber. 3.31 forget about it without modding the stock tune.

shaun,

1150 ish.

i think it will still loosen up a little more.. so im holding off any mods til then..

plus i was convinced not to do any tunes while everything is still in beta form..

also,
i may have one of your type "deals" going with the shop. and money is a situation for me atm. unfortunatly i cant talk about it publicaly until i decide whether or not to do it..

you will free up another 5-10 with another 1,500 (shorter if you are hard on the car).

the diff is one apply's load and the other does not. Dyno jets can read higher. it all depends on when it was calibrated last.
Dyno's are tuning tools. you cant compare one dyno to another (neven DJ to DJ or M to M).

im still waiting for everything to be emailed.. so no dyno sheet yet..

from what i saw @ the time, there was a nasty dip in hp for like 300 rpms towards the end of the pull .. i think it was the computer pulling something just prior to speed limiter shutting it down im going to guestimate the rpm range was around 5800-6100.

As promised here are the Graphs..

no one can figure out the dip as of yet that happens only in the 5th gear pull
