Do they look boring to you now?
In retrospect, I could do without the hips on the '10+ cars (which seems to have led to the clunky rear treatment) and I think they could have done a better job on the lower front fascia (I really dig the Roush front end, especially when area below the grille is blacked out and the driving lights help to keep it from looking to bulky).
I do like everything from the grille up on the '10+ cars, especially the hood.
Hardly
Not that the II's were bad cars, they served thier purpose and like the car that replaced it make excellent drag cars by dint of thier light weight.

One thing i will say my 08 GT with GT Appearance Package, chrome Bullitts, GT500 spoiler and side louvers got way more looks than my '11 does. I think the '11 blends in more with todays cars.
Lots of hate for the 05-09 going on here (no accounting for taste I guess). One thing that cannot be denied is that the 05 Mustang put Mustang back on the map again. The ad campaign was "The Legend Lives" and the 05 Mustang breathed new life into the car. Sales went through the roof and Dodge and Chevy decided to get back into the pony wars because of it.
The 2010+ owners only have the car they have now because of the 05 Mustang.
Kneel and bow before The Legend!

Some people have short memories- this is what started it all:

Mustang hadn't seen excitement like this since the first Mustang hit showrooms.

I didn't start looking at them (again) until 05.
So, I read the first page of threads and quickly jumped to the last just so that I didn't have to read people arguing over which cars are best. I will try to keep this short and sweet... When I first saw a 1994 Mustang, I thought it was awesome. Nice change from the foxbody. Then, the 1999's came out and I said the same thing (except I still wonder why they kept the interior the same). After that, 2005's came out and it was retro yet modern. I loved seeing it the front end in my rearview mirror. You can spot it from a mile away. Next was the 2010... The mustang got a new shell and I once again loved it. Today, we have the 2011's with the 5.0... I really like it.
The point I want to make is that the consumer gets tired of seeing the same thing. So, Ford listens to what people want in the mustang and changes it to sell cars. I enjoy seeing a fresh look every few years. I am going to be getting 2011 GT soon, but when the 50th comes out in 2014/2015, I bet I will like it. The evolution of the mustang continues and it continues with the input we give Ford.

I like both the 05-09 and the 10-11 body styles, I was kinda iffy on the back of the 10 when it first came out, but it really grew on me. I am from the school of thought that the mustang died after 1973 and didn't come back until 2005, although a few of the new edges do look ok. I couldn't stand what the car was while I was growing up. My father had a 72 mach 1 and I LOVED that car, but the body styles after 73 did nothing for me. I started looking at mustangs again when the 05 came out, I started saving, and then I heard the rumors about the new 5.0 in 09 so I decided to wait for the 11, and well, here I am, finally have the car I've always wanted

Seriously, I haven't really liked the body of any Mustang from 74 through 04. Besides, the interiors were mostly too cramped for my 6'4" 250lb frame. That's why I've been driving Camaros and Firebirds for the past 25 years. I consider the 05-09 very nicely styled but they are still a little cramped inside. The '11 I have on order fits well and looks great although I prefer the earlier taillights. I saw an 05-09 with sequential turn signals the other day and it looked awesome!
wow. just weird that people think the 05-09 look more muscle, i get the exact opposite feeling looking at a 2005-09 models, even including the 10 rear end which I dont mind at all, i actually enjoy it.
Usually, first thing anyone comments in on is that the 10-11 has more a muscular look to it and it looks meaner than previous years.
I like the 05-09 years, but I think they did a great job with the newer body style. I CANNOT stand the Fox body style, just not my thing, never will get it. They sound great, just hated the looks of them.
The 94-04 were better, but still dont like them enough to ever to get one.

I am in the same boat as you. Im in my early thirties, grew up in an Mustang, and Maverick in horrible green color!..

BRAVO!
That's why I bought my Trans Am. I got used to seeing a lot of Mustangs in my rear view mirror while driving it.

It would be funny to see you TRY and fit comfortably in the 10-11 Camaro.
