Do they look boring to you now?

How many think the 05-09 just so plain and boring now that you look at your '10 and '11 everyday? I just love the hip on the car and the 05-09 just looks so straight and plain without. Even the rear looks so dull now. (yes i did say this). How do you guys feel?

I kinda feel that the 2010s lack alittle. I loved my 2010 GB but its missing something and I cannot put my finger on it. It might flow to well.

cool blue color *check*
full diaper *check*
nice hips *check*

Nope. Compared to the '05-'09s, I like their styling the best, especially the rear.

I suppose, for me, the perfect blend would be the '10+ front end and the '05-'09 rear end... plus the '11 suspension/tranny/motor, of course!

05-09's look far better to me. I can't get use to the UGLY rear end on the new model. As for "hips"...I just don't thing the lines really are co-ordinated, just lines for lines sake.

+1, I'll add that the 05-09 looks bigger as well. Anytime there is a design change there will be folks that don't like it at first. Alot of people just don't like change. Read any board when a new model comes out. Tons of people hate them yet fast forward a couple of years and people usually prefer the newer models. I think the 10+ look better than any prior mustang except for the first gen fastbacks.

Nope.

05-09 has Great lines - in contrast to the conflicted lines of that 10/11 rear end.

I agree to a point, but it is just part of the Mustang evolution through its life. People will be saying the same thing about the 2010-2013 Mustangs when the 2014's get released.

IMO I just couldn't stand the rear end of my 08. It felt so cheap like a very cheap thin thing of plastic. i HATED it. I like the "diaper rear end" so much better, at least it doesnt feel or look cheap like the 05-09 bumper does.

Not a fan of first gen fastback either. I like the 67-68 and then the 69-70 fastback. To me the 05-09 says MUSTANG and it's the only reason I bought one in 05. I might get the 2012 Boss 302 and I'm trying hard to like the new style but there are design flaws I'm having trouble with. I think the Boss helps hide them a bit.

I'm the opposite. I think the 05-09 rear end screams muscle car. The 10-11 doesn't say muscle car. But I honestly think the new design was mean't to bring a younger crowd to the Mustang. Us old guys got our retro ride with the 05-09.

You mean they hide them or distract you with those ugly paint scheme's?

I guess I'm the only one who wants Competition Orange?

I like both body styles but very differently. I think the new Mustang is much more relevant for the times. I still like the back end of the new Mustang but I also like progression. I am younger so I believe they succeeded in drawing in a new, younger crowd. I also think the new style is much more aggressive. Just like how the new edge Mustang's looked. I enjoy the looks of the 05-09 as well and respect what it was trying to achieve. Though some things I thought were cheapened up, I was glad to see that the new Mustangs have a more upscale look while keeping with the throw back looks. They are just different. Yet the same in many ways.

IMO the 05-09's nailed it, also the perfect stang right now would be the 2011 with the 05-09 rear with a few touch up's not that weird shape they have now!

the 05-09 look = muscle.
the 10-11 look = refined sharp, but not mean and muscle (focusing on the rear) like someone said, it begs to be backed into a garage.

Stock for stock, it all depends on wheels to me on which looks plain. The 17 inch bullitts or the split spoke 5 spokes (17s) make the 05-09 look boring. But on 18in + wheels they look the same in terms of "not boring"

That being said, I LOVE the 2010+ front end. It's extremely aggressive, and makes the '05s look civil. Not boring, just not mean either

Quite the opposite for me. I never cared for the last generation before, but now it's looking almost as good as the new.

I have nothing to contribute to this thread that hasn't already been stated by both groups a million times over.

I need to put on my shield for the giant pissing match that is inevitable with this topic.

But while I'm here, yes the 05-09's look plain jane now (unless modded like Gary's )
