Concept release...when?

I wanted a GT500 very bad, then I got sticker shock, and never thought about buying one since. Heck, the Shelby GT is around $41k in most places.
With Mustang GT prices near $32k, I may remain "GTJOHN" for a long time.
Instead of "MACHJOHN"
All I can say is the SE better be special, because I can find a lot of things to do with $5000 or $8000.
If Ford does it right, I'll buy one.

The laws of supply and demand... it's what makes this country great.

Put it to you this way....
Unless Ford has a GOOD package for the Mach1/BOSS, they will not do it.
So if they got a go-ahead for it, means there will be a nicer horsepower increase than just a CAI and tune. (newer engine combo)
It'll be the last blast for the 2005-2009 before the new skin comes out.
They won't half-hinney those SE's
Not that the Bullitt was done that way, it just wasn't done to what a lot of people wanted.

That's my hope. As I said in another thread, it's likely that GM will show off the final production version of the fifth-gen Camaro at the next NAIAS, so Ford should steal their thunder by showing off the next Mustang. If they're smart...

If that's true, they'll probably show something to maintain the buzz at NAIAS.

I do hope they reveal the redesign sooner rather than later. I'm considering buying a new Mustang within the next year or so, but might hold off if the '10 (or even '09, for that matter) turn out to be amazing.

I bought a 2004 Mach 1 in Nov. 2003 for invoice (X-plan) plus a $2500 rebate. I think the demand dropped off for the '04 model year due to the anticipation of the all new car which led a lot of people to wait to buy. I wonder how the '09 will go, particularly a SE. With the Camaro coming out and a new Mustang design on the horizon demand may once again prove to be weak and a bargain may be there for the taking.

Just one more reason why Ford should have the concept available for the Detroit Auto show in January.

Wow the top line SRT8 is under 40k!?! Well if dodge can keep the ADMs away this will be the best bargain on the market. Even if you can get a GT500 at sticker base price is something like 42-43 k? Either way the GT500 outprices the SRT8 by 4-5k? I'm kinda suprised, maybe the GT500 is a tad overpriced if Dodge can offer the Challenger with similer features and power for less money on a more expensive platform.

Boomer, I worked at a Dodge dealer recently, for the first year of production the dealership I was at is only allocated 1 for 08', and it has already been sold by the manager (like he needs any more money, regualr salesmen were not allowed to sell it) for $60,000. This is bull**** in my opinion but look at Ford still selling GT500s for 10-15k above sticker in the second model yr. Either way the Challenger should perform about as well as the GT500 for less money once the people can actually purchase these cars, plus the Challenger doesnt have the stupid marketing gimmic "Shelby" name on it so maybe these will be more attainible than the GT500

As i've said, Ford's premiering a whole bunch of stuff at NAIAS, tossing out a concept for a car we'll likely see in the flesh a LA 2008 or sooner would be a waste and would detract coverage from vehicles which need good press like the new F-150 and the Verve.
