Concept release...when?

I was wondering about when should we expect to see a concept of what the 2010 Mustang will be a an autoshow. Will there even be an "unveiling" of a refresh at all...or so we have to wait untill Jan 2009 to see the 2010 model lines?

Someone mentioned something will be shown at the 2008 NAIAS in Jan.

Concept or production...
Would think concept this year, production in 09 ... or would Jan production shots be too close to a release in April-Sept as a 2010

I reckon you're right. I can only see them producing a concept car if it looks significantly different to the current car. If it is, then something in Detroit in Jan '08 would fit.

If it's "just" a facelift, I reckon they'll just show the production car a few months prior to going on sale.

Yep, I was told that the 09/10 will be shown in January. I am skeptical myself, but my source said this is coming from his relative that is a "new design/product" engineer at Ford.

I put very little faith in something said by someone's uncle's, cousin's, best friend's, college roomate's, girlfriend's, hair stylist.

I would hope Ford would release the concept before the Camaro gets out for sale so some new buyers might just give the New 09-10 Mustang a second look before plunking down some money for the 09 Camaro or Challenger.

Absolutely. I'm sure Chevrolet will be showing the production version of the Camaro at Detroit in January, so it'd be great if Ford could take away a little of the limelight by showing the 09/10.

...or....they would not do it then... afraid that no one would notice it with all the press the Camero will get.

Ford needs a Mustang at the Detroit Auto Show that is a bit more exciting then the 2008.5 Bullitt.
