chazcron takes the bra off
The 5.0 in TRUCK format will have less than 400 hp w/tons of torque, as a truck engine should be. But the Mustang is getting the performance tune, 400+ HP PERIOD.
Guess Ford thinks they've got to keep up with the cartoon looks of the Challenger and the Camaro.
I keep waiting for them to say something like in "Cars"! .......
..........
I forwarded the link to my friend, and they said it's close, but you've missed some subtle tweaks and lines that "hooks it all together". They also said your image is a good effort, but is "too soft"....shape of the metal is wrong.
And when I mentioned the Mustang II comment, they belted out laughing. "No way, not at all," they said. They said V6 is more agressive, GT is even more agressive, and GT500 will kick your freaking a__!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it me or do the chops look like the Mustang II version of the S197?
I think Ford better show us a pic of the 2010 or we may have a lot of people jumping over to the Camero/Challenger cars. With photos like these it may be scarring a lot of potential buyers thinking this is what it will really look like and it aint good if it is.
I know a guy who just traded in his 07 GT for a Challenger. Paid $5000 over MSRP because he just has no faith in Ford.

the Camaro won't be able to be purchased until early 2009 also. As for the Challenger, the 2009MY R/T and SE won't be out until early 2009...the only Challenger you can buy now is the 2008 SRT8 in Automatic...
Again, where are they runnin' to?
One being truck...one being car.
Truck is said to be around 360hp and will appear in the F150
after the 400hp highpo version in the mustang.
That also comes from people in the know on the boards. (multiple)
Check over on BON and Svtperformance as well as here.
Nothing against Chaz, but spraying some airbrush over the camo and pasting in some lights from another view is not equal to the three years worth of work the design team has done. I used to work with one of these guys, and let me tell you, they analyze lines and shapes like you wouldn't believe. I've heard them ask for a line to be moved 1 or 2mm or to add half a millimeter more curve to a line. They don't always get what they want, maybe it costs too much or the team can't manufacture it or the plant guys say no way ( alot! ) But Ford knows the Mustang is their golden jewel, and they've been given as much stuff as possible without doing a whole new car ( i.e. same roof windows/bumper structure, etc etc. ) So trust me, you're seeing this as if you were watching a striptease through hazy glasses ( or eyes, if your drunk. ) Wait til you sober up and see the real thing before making a decision. Jeez.
How can you be disappointed???? You have not seen the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope he enjoys paying $5K over sticker for an automatic-only SRT-8 when he could've waited 8 weeks seen the 2010 in LA and then decided. BTW, Challenger is not a sales success, even though they say all are sold out for this year, apparently 750 are still available as people changed their minds once they saw it, drove it, sat inside, and/or looked at the fuel economy. ( Latest issue ofAutoweek. )

Thats what I've been trying to say. Some people on here are acting all disappointed when they HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN THE CAR YET!
I still give Chaz props for doing a good job with what he had to guess from, but at the same time I realize that its just a guess, its not the real car
For those of you who don't like it, just wait till L.A. for the real thing.
I wonder if they'll show all three trim levels (V6, GT, GT500) at the same time....

YUP! What was he thinking?
"Chrysler, which relies more heavily on trucks and SUVs than its rivals, fell hardest of all, down 28.8% to 98,109 vehicles from 137,728 a year ago."

The V6 will have standard Ford issue lower foglights...see Fusion, Taurus, MKS...etc

Speaking of MKS, the front design will be similar on Mustang whereas the lower bumper will be black and taper off toward the front air intake.

Sorta like this:
