Canadian 2013 GT's not getting grille mounted LED fogs
True, people just don't know how to step into other peoples shoes in for any topic that don't concern them. if they decided to put the v6 bumper into the Boss cars, then you can imagine him go bananas
I mean people that will wait for a car, go to a dealership and look at their car when it comes in, and be like " WTF I didn't order a v6", its like "oh we didn't have enough green color, so we got you a red one, hope you like it".
This totally looks like a last minute change too, so someone at Ford had to displace the "Canadian Rule Book"
.
Canadians pay more for these cars, they showed the GT as it is in US, website shows it the same way, and to get a car and find it to look totally different? I mean come on, be in the shoes of those people and tell me if you wouldn't go ape **** at the dealership when you receive the car you waited for so long. They at least could of gave the GT/CS grill just to make up for it.

I've been though this and MORE with my Shelby GT and THIS situation is NOTHING in comparison my friend. NOTHING! So don't you represent me, you don't know me, and I promise to do the same for you.
AGAIN, this is STUPID, it was stupid of Ford to make the the choice they made, and the customer's response was equally stupid.
As for my Boss...I don't like the grill! LMAO! I REALLY HATE IT! As soon as they have a good selection of Ford or 3rd party grills I'll be shopping anne put the other in storage. But I don't cry about it...I love the car overall and I'll make due for a few months. So I AM in the same shoes I guess now aren't I?
The difference is I act like an adult and determine my *****ing on forums isn't going to change anything and move on with my Plan B. Threatening to "cancel" my order over a grill is my issue that seems to have escaped all but a few. AGAIN I think the grill looks like $#@! BUT my reaction wouldn't be to cancel it would be to work out a swap.
Anything else is WASTED ENERGY...gawd ****...I just wasted energy!
Just curious....are Mustangs built in Canada....or built in the US FOR Canadian sales? I thought they were all built here in the US. If so, then Ford of Canada would not have much to say about what was done to meet the Canadian requirements other than giving the legal requirements to Ford.
I doubt that Ford of Canada is receiving Mustangs with GT grills and swapping them out for V6 styles to meet the law. lol
Ford most likely determines the best way for them to meet those legal requirements...... but maybe not the best look.
Seems like Ford of Canada is simply a middle man.

As to why TC asked Ford for those changes to be made is still a mystery to me. As far as i know, 2013MY uses the same headlamps-bulbs as 2011's.
That's what I am saying...it is not Ford of Canada or Transport Canada....it is how Ford reacted to the request from TC. They possibly could have handled it with different parts than what they chose to use. No one has investigated why the difference from one year to the next in the car build or the requirements from TC.....just complain here with no background as to why.

This would be surprising to me if I was in the position of the people ordering. I do hope that you are able to provide the feedback to the dealerships and find some official response or resolution to this. I presume that by now there are various Ford employees close to the engineering that have heard your feedback.
I think it might be difficult to make any engineering changes since this involves managing against laws, but perhaps there will be a way to get some form of redress.
I feel bad for the Canadian folks who are in this position.

my rant in this thread, and the other thread is simple, i want to warn other CDN members if they have an order in, they should be aware....if they like it, good for them ....if they dont, i want them to be warned, which this thread has now done.
Lastly, as this thread continues, many CDNs have already expressed the dislike of this downgrade change...Ford , listen up .... future buyers in Canada, your second largest market for this car - HATES YOUR GRILLE CHANGE.
this is not wasted ennergy in the bit, its customers that like ford that want them to give them whatt they want....if i didnt like ford, i would simple cancel my order, and they would never know why....if anything im the best type of client they can have.
sorry to hear you hate your boss grille, and decided to settle (i personally like the boss grill)....some people are like that , they are ok with being dictated and controlled and just "accept" what happens...unfortunately, im not one of those people. i get what i want, i dont wait for some Corporation to tell me to take it and enjoy it, at least not in this case.

The difference here is, this is not a deal breaker for you , as for it is a deal breaker for me. If i wanted the v6, i would have ordered the v6, i ordered the gt becasue of the look...pretty simple.

I guess we can agree to disagree but you will not always "get what you want", like me convincing you of the futility of your Don Quixote quest that you seem to be on, and as an adult that actualization has served me well.
In this case, instead of working it out through various means listed, you're proclaimed to the world your willingness to throw the baby out with the bath water, claim the glass is 1/2 empty, etc., I don't just don't think that way and believe it's completely counter productive.
When Ford makes me mad, and they do, I for sure don't jump on forums ranting and looking for sympathy and allies while I fight windmills and get all upset when someone doesn't give that to me but instead calls me on it. THAT sort of silliness is a pet peeve of mine sorry!
I've already posted that there are MANY ways to deal with this but instead you puff up your feathers, create TWO threads, and say you're gonna cancel your order. Sure let others know of the change, no issue at all with that, but there are better, and more effective, ways to address this with Ford and then your dealer. Worse case, like me, you buy a grill, and move on. Done!
I'll end it with, if the idea of having to swap the grill is enough move you to cancel your order, and buy a different performance car, I question if you really wanted the car to begin with or maybe not for the right reasons. The "look" is something you can get back easily, even improve upon, it's up to you.
I'm out...but I do wish you good luck in your quest!
It's a grill! It's value is about $150 of a $34,000 (US) car!

I will advise what the dealer and ford Canada decide to do with my Dissatisfaction.
We are both entitled to think in our own fashion, you disapprove of my going public with this, that's your opinion .... I'm entitled to mine, thats what makes North America the greatest place in the world to live...and people always immigrating here.
I'm sure we can banter like this forever, but ultimately everyone has to make there own decision ...I can only hope , that enough people think like myself and force companies like ford, that when they make a change because they had too, they NEED to upgrade the customer, not the other way around....this is my primary peeve....the v6 grille is cheaper for them to put on the gt...that's the art that is BULLS..T

kinda makes all your posts in this thread a little facetious
Please try not to be offended by this, but it is something I would like to ask.
If you don't care about the performance and only care about the looks then why buy a GT at all? You could easily buy a V6, put the grill, spoilers, rims, and other GT appearance parts on it for a fraction of the cost of a true GT. Yes, it would be a "Poser" car, but that doesn't seem like it would bother you since you have confessed to not caring about the performance difference.
In the end you would have had a car that looked the way you wanted, it would have been a cheaper car to drive (better fuel milage), cheaper to insure, and cost $5k - $10k less to purchase.
Those grills are not just for Canada. I just got back from my local dealership and they had 2 2013 gt mustangs. One grabber blue with fog lights down below and chrome around grill. The other was a DIB with the fogs in the grill. Both gt's were both base with 301a, auto trans, and backup sensors. Funny thing is I am as far from the Canadian border as you can get. I am in deep south Texas, 30 min from Mexican border. The only thing I noticed was the gt with fogs down low had a mid Feb. date on the window sticker. The other had an early March date. My 2013 base gt with recaros, spoiler delete, and auto has an eta to be here on the 15th. We will see how that one comes equipped.

Again, i have to make this part clear, if you or others are fine with buying a new car, and then revamping it into something else, that is your choice...god bless you .... i am not that type of buyer.
I really dont like the v6 look with that chrome, and those fog lights below, it really looks different that the orgianl GT that is currently offered in the US - There has been a history here of this car with those fogs in the grille, there was no reason for me or anyone else to suspect this would have been deleted.
Even if deleted, why would ford not use the BOSS grille then on all GT'S ? I bet the thread titles on here would be :
"GOOD NEWS" - CDN GT OWNERS GET BOSS GRILLE !!!
That would have been a better topic discussion i think -
I heard in the states, in grille fogs are an option, or a package option
