Why didn't they just leave the grille with the flat black border like the CS rather than the chrome? I can deal with the lack of fogs, but the chrome looks so out of place.

I also heard that the GT/CS is actually the GT/BCS in Canada and is officially called the British Columbia Special. lol, I kid, but I wouldn't put it past Ford Canada at this point!

Front black grill....black hood vents....make the CS so much nicer looking then the butt ugly chrome crap that ford Canada gives the V6 and GT mustangs.

If i had ordered a 5.0 from seeing the pics at fords Canadian site and then come to pickup and have the "chrome barf" front...i would walk away and reorder the CS.

I was at the dealer today finalizing my order for a 2013 Mustang GT and I overheard a conversation with another salesperson where the customer wanted to cancel his order due to the change in the grille. I wonder how the change will affect sales of the GT in Canada...

In any case, I decided to pull the trigger and order a 2013 Mustang GT today. Hopefully, there will be some good replacement grille options when the car arrives.

Congratulations. You understand what you are ordering and will make it your own. I believe sales will tank on the GT. The CS will be my choice over the GT with the changes. I am not in the market for a GT but, a GT500 is on list.

Remember Employee pricing should be out in July. If you time your order (8 to 12 weeks) for delivery, you should save about $6,000+ on a GT.

Update...
Ford has removed the GT pic from the build an price on Ford.ca

Also it looks like the GTs got held for a while, and dealers were finally notified on the situation.

I saw one on the lot driving by, and it doesn't look bad.
Very sleeperish, although I'd probably still just get a GT/CS instead if that was the case.

2013 Mustang GT Front Fascia Changes for 2013

As you may have noticed we delayed scheduling on 2013 MY Mustang GT models
over the last few weeks. We wanted to take the opportunity to provide you
an update on our status with this vehicle line.

Among the many changes for the 2013 model year Mustang was the addition of
HID headlamps with signature lighting for all series. With the integration
of HID headlamps, activation of the Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) is
achieved by using LED fog lamps in lieu of low beam halogen headlamps. In
order to be compliant with Transport Canada's requirements for DRLs, the GT
series requires that the front fascia accommodate LED fog lamps. To be
compliant with this requirement from Transport Canada, we were required to
make a late change. For the 2013 model year, the Mustang GT front fascia
(upper grille insert and fog lamps) will be similar to the V6 with the
exception of units equipped with the California Special Equipment Group
(402A) - this equipment group is not impacted by the change nor will any
other GT styling cues including the unique hood, standard/optional GT wheel
offerings, dual bright rolled exhaust tips and deck lid applique with the GT
logo on faux gas cap.

There are a small number of sold GT orders in the system that range from
serialized all the way to shipped, and in some cases delivered. Build &
Price originally showed images of the standard GT grille and is now being
revised with corrected images. For undelivered units, please ensure that you
alert your customers to the changes, as orders may have been placed under
the expectation of a differentiated front fascia.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Scheduling
Analyst.

At any rate, my issues got sorted. No complaints here any longer

"will be similar to the V6" don't they mean 100% identical.. they even changed the lower grille to the v6 one.
'05-'12 v6 & gt's at least had different bumper covers & lower fascias

Maybe if you bought a real car you wouldn't have been guessing what you ordered

Has anyone succesfully received any sort of compensation for this screwup from Ford? Either by dealership or Ford directly?

1) negotiated for the Boss grills?

2) any money back?

3) extra's thrown in?
