I thought Ford would not honor your warranty if you purchase it in the US and bring it into Canada? Otherwise I would've, coulda saved a few grand and visited my uncle who lives in Seattle.

That changes the look for me. Not liking it one bit. It is not fair that you have to go aftermarket just to make your GT what it should look like from the beginning...

I wonder how many GT's will be sold in Canada now. Some may like it but, not me...

I can not confirm but, was told by the Shelby group Ford will honor your warranty in North America. Something to look into. Not sure what will happen at the border with the new front end fog lights. I guess we will have to do some checking into this.

I understand the US model will have to have some changes for Canada. Like RDL. But how does the fog lights in the grill (US model) affect us? It would suck if you had to remove them for Canadian law. Then going to the US would only be for $$$ savings.

LED fogs are considered HID lights in Canada.
And since the HIDs are standard headlights, the fogs can't be used as DRLs. (which is what I'm guess the 2010-2012s used for DRLS..anyone confirm this?)

This meaning that this is how all GTs in Canada will look now, and why the lowers fogs (which are incandescent)

well, thats a bunch of nonesense, since the 2012s had the fogs in the grille - Again, if ford had to make the change with these fogs for CDN, the 5.0 should be more reflective of the Shelby / Boss and the fogs should have been in the bumper, not like the V6 - and WHO the HELL thought about making that trim CHROME ???? THe red and blk car posted on this thread, look horrid with that CHROME trim -

Ford should make the grill CS then ....or at the very least, that CHROME peice smoked.....IM VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED AT SPENDING THIS TYPE OF MONEY AND GETTING SOMETHING LIKE THIS NEW PIC -

FORD SHOULD HAVE CONTACTED THERE OWNERS WAITING FOR THECARS and given them the OPTION of the CS grill then, or this NONESENSE chrome garbage they are putting on it They shouldBE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES !!!!

IM UPSET !!! - I might just refuse delivery over this next week now.

So the fogs in the lower fascia arent even LED... Why wouldn't they just put incandescents in the grill fogs.. I wonder if the harness is still there behind the grill.. Anyone with a 2012 CS? Did they have the harness behind the grill? I guess the one good thing, is now when I put a saleen grill or something on, I am not deleting my fog lights...

That would probably mean new parts and wiring,
whereas the lower fogs on the V6 already comply with regulation.

As for HIDs and fogs before..searching around it seems because the fogs were not LEDs prior, they could be used as the DRLs.

It's too bad the light strips couldn't be DRLs alone, and Headlights/fogs when the lights are on.

I don't understand why an LED can't be used as a DRL ?

I know an HID can't be used, as it will flicker, but why is there a ruling that an HID (LED in this case) can't be used.

Good point. Do not buy anything you are not 100% sure of. You have time on your side. Hopefully it will work out for you some how. Maybe an extra few grand off for misleading or not informing you of the changes...I would be very upset as well...

per Boomers post an LED light is classified by the Canadian Government as an "High Intensity Discharge" light source (do to how many lumens it produces) which makes it ineligable to use as a DRL per Canadian Law

Wow Ford better change their website before they have a bunch more people really upset. I don't blame you guys one bit.

I noticed when I ordere'd my '11 the Canadian site didn't have the proper photo for the interior upgrade package either. The only reason I knew what it actually looked liked was from photo's on this site.

That and the rim's don't change style either.

I figured it would be easy to use a DRL module on the fog lights, reducing its light output for DRL use... Easier than upsetting their customers atleast

^ agreed.. if i went to pick up my GT and it had a v6 front i'ld be pissed..

They coluld've at least put a BOSS grille on it since that fits right in and no fogs,

You should make them order one for you or say you won't take the car

the same way you are used to having rolling black outs in Cali - and then get your electricity from Canada

Doesnt mean you need to get used to it.

I've never been a part of a rolling black out. That's funny though. Lol
