C&D: Over 400 HP
Not when clueless buyers agree to price gauging they can't. Problem is when you let the dealer screw you over which you clearly are he thinks he can do it to the next guy who probably is alot better at handling his money. It is simply an unexcusable practice period in which the buyer lacking backbone is largely a part of the problem. Bottom Line Ford is going to make as many GT's next year as people want. There is no limited supply or production. 2010 numbers are far below normal as it is so I don't think even the 2011 will bring in record numbers. Five O Brien hit the nail on the head, if the dealer refuses take your business elsewhere. If a dealer can't sell cars due to ridiculous markups that is not my problem. He can have a going out of business sale while I take my business elsewhere.
I bet we've all paid more for something we wanted at some point in our lives than we might have had to later. It's all good.I think the mustang is getting more and more like the human brain all the time. With 400+ hp and 6-speed transmissions, there's going to be so much unused potential out there with all us average drivers, it will be epic.
I bought my bullitt at Brian's dealership, Bowen Scarff Ford. Highly recommended place to do business if you're anywhere within a couple hundred miles. I live about 100 miles away with probably 20 Ford dealerships in between me and them. Fair pricing and great customer service. I won't be buying a Ford anywhere else in the future unless their business model changes. And no I don't get a kickback.

Are you thick?
Yes, Ford can stop it. Quite simply, Ford informs dealers to not charge ADMs, make it public knowledge that they won't tolerate it, and to report dealers for doing so, and polices it as a result. You decide to throw an ADM on a car...you lose the right/volume you're currently at. If you value your business, you'll do it with integrity.

I understand you are jealous, but don't let hate and jealousy make you ASSume that people who pay ADM's don't know the cars will be blown out later. $5k may be a ton of cash to you but it's a small price to pay for me to get the car I want when I want it. Since when is a dealer selling a car at an AGREED UPON price inexcusable? Hate to burst your little fantasy bubble, but people who pay ADM's know the story far more than you do. Would you buy a 5.0 at A plan? Using your same logic, that is dumb too. Anyone who buys a new car can be called someone who is impatient and "can't manage their money" according to you. You should wait at least 3 years so the first 50% depreciates! See ya in 2013!
Hey 94gt, don't blow a head gasket but.... if the local dealer has a 5.0 here when they start showing up and it's the right car, I'll glady pay his ADM. =D

I don't get the point of this asinine debate. Some people are willing to pay a premium to be the first on the block to have the latest and greatest, while some would rather wait for prices to come down because they just want to enjoy the car and don't care what everyone else thinks. Where's the "right" and "wrong" here? To each his own, right?
What the hell is wrong with you people?

No, Ford can't stop it. Apparently you don't understand how the Ford franchise license works. A dealer could sue Ford for trying to force price controls on them, and win. Please educate yourself about the various dealer franchises. They are legally binding contracts with strict provisions guiding BOTH parties.
Yes, the franchising license is set up to protect both parties, but Ford could very easily use that to protect its integrity and keep the public from getting bent over in the event of huge ADMs on the car. Those ADMs do nothing to Ford as a whole, they merely go into the dealer's pockets because some ignorant person with more money than brains decided to buy one of the first. It's like a fashion statement.
With that being said, I'm sure most of us wouldn't spend the extra money to have one early, but that's someone else's prerogative. Wanna **** money away? Be my guest! I'll go with my A-plan and nothing more, thank you very much.

Oh, and I tend to be a little preachy. (I come by it honestly... my dad was a minister) Now, back to the 400+ hp car postings. (we have to say 400+ cause nobody really knows or isn't telling)

The public isn't getting bent over. A Mustang isn't a need like electricity or food. No one HAS to buy a Mustang.
Quit being so jealous of those who have the means. It's bleeding right through your posts. If you use A plan, you are still buying a new car which isn't sound financial action. Practice what you preach. A used car buyer can call you just as "ignorant" as you are calling me. Works both ways.
All hail Overboost! Champion of the Public and Defender of Mustang Pricing!
LOL

Do you know what ignorant means? Ignorant would mean I wasn't aware I could wait and get cheaper pricing, it would also mean I wasn't aware that I could get an X plan pin etc. I am aware. I don't care.

I suggest you take a deep breath, walk away from the keyboard, and relax.
