Boss 302 ate 4 quarts of oil
Scott
Just got the Boss back from the dealer... Ford Engineering specs that, "since these cars are made to be driven hard and most likely are driven hard, 1-qt every thousand miles is normal."
I guess I just have to check it. (btw, I baby it. It spends 90% of its time in stop and go traffic.)

That sucks, but at least you now know why!
The last time I've babied my car, i ended up having nothing but problems with it, resulting in getting rid of it
I intend on driving this car every which way! except into a wall or something
Shame on you! You're killing that great engine.

Dennis' (denlem) GT was using a lot of oil too. Dealer had no real solution. Finally Dennis went on vacation where it was a several hour freeway drive. Engine finally got to run. His oil consumption issue went away.

Oddly enough, I checked it a while back, mid oil change and no usage (that was noticeable). After my 4 drive was when I noticed it. I'm sure that was just coincidence. I'm going to check it more often either way.
Almost to 3,000 miles - still dead center on the dipstick.
I don't beat on it, but if there's a Camaro or Challenger around, I make sure they know they drive ***** mobiles.
I guess it should also be noted that my drive to work is an hour - all highway, so there's not much stop/go.
