Okay, so for winterizing:
Full tank of gas, get some STA-BILin there, run the vehicle, and then either disconnect the battery or use one of those trickle chargers to keep the battery good.

The door unlocking:
It's a mechanical issue, annoying but not impossible to deal with, so either take the car in now or warn the dealer prior to the first oil change.

Ford Sync:
Sounds like a lot of us have the same problem. I did some more Googling and I guess it used to allow this, but a recent firmware upgrade removed the feature. How annoying.

Getting out of the car:
Hey, I'm not old! lol I've just driven tall cars/vans for years and years. Sounds like I need to use my right foot to prop myself up, which now that I think about it sounds really obvious. Oh well, you don't know what you don't know. I'll try it tomorrow.
Ford sync:
Ford has a web page for this. Forgot what is was. My sync? Something like that
Getting out of the car:
I'm 60. My wife's 47. I wouldn't admit to having issues getting out of my Mustang. Enough said?

I figured best to admit it online and field ideas than to admit it in person! At least no one has seen me make a fool of myself yet!

Ford's site (that I know of) is www.syncmyride.com however I looked at the site and didn't see a setting to change this particular feature.

i sometimes dread getting out of my Mustang after a long ride. Left foot out first!!! Yes, now I remember using syncmyride. I had an issue with my Lincoln and found the fix on that site.

Ohhh, he's one of those. A VAN GUY. That explains a few things.

Oh well, you don't know what you don't know.
Apparently, he's also Casey Stengel. In which case, he can get out of the car however he wants to.

Or:
Open door, spin legs out, feet on ground, then stand.
This is exactly what I do, I use the sill.

The driver door doesn't unlock properly. If I click unlock with the key-remote, and pull the door handle, the door doesn't open. As I let go of the handle, I hear the unlock-mechanism move, and then re-trying will open the door. I suspect this is an electrical or mechanical issue, but have been enjoying the car too much to take it in (I figure when I get my free Ford oil change, I'll mention it). (passenger door opens fine)

Hi guys,

I’d like to escalate this to the Customer Service Manager for your area. I recommend you make an appointment with your Ford dealer for diagnosis as soon as possible. Then PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, best daytime number, and the concern your vehicle is having so I can help.

Regarding SYNC, mine does the same thing sometimes. When I shut off using USB, when I start the car agaian it switches to radio.

the sync in my fusion would "remember" my iphone no problem and start automatically as I started it...which is why I wanted to stay with a ford and go with the mustang...
Idn if they removed that feature or something, but it sure is ANNOYING!
Regarding your SYNC issues, please contact Jaclyn. She’s our awesome IVT Rep here and will be able to help you guys with this.

No problem getting in or out of the Mustang. I use the push with the right foot method. also you can use your right hand on the side of the steering wheel for the extra upper push.. LOL.. 6' tall here and no spring chicken but since I love and only prefer 2 door cars its a no brainer.

I would use the pillar instead of the steering wheel. Steering wheels aren't meant to be pushed on, just turned.

In my defense, the van is what drove me to college classes. Now that I'm working, the Mustang is what is driving me away...

Thanks for the concern. When I have a free weekend I'll set up an appointment with my dealer. And I'll PM Jaclyn right now.

All that matters is you got your Mustang in the end, dontOverSteer!

I just replied to your PM. In case anyone else is wondering, the system isn't able to default to Bluetooth audio. The quickest way to select this source is to give the voice command "BLUETOOTH AUDIO."

Give me a shout if you have any other questions.

What if u hit the unlock twice (as you would to open to passenger side). Does it still stay locked on the first pull?

On the sync side of things, I really need to read about it. I use my phone to play music. And it is annoying as ever to get it to play sometimes. I have to hit menu > toggle over twice, select that > then hit USB. I have to do that Every time I unplug or pause the device. Even tho it's still set on USB it won't just start playing, the device is playing but no sound. Time to read the book, I'm probably doing it wrong

On getting out, I always move my seat all the way back first, primarily to save rubbing the leather on the side of the seat as I get out. If I don't, over time the side of the seat will wear out faster (someone on this site has this as a tip). But this also makes getting in and out easier. And as for the motor wearing out, I have 125k extended warranty.

Hey, 2012GTCS -

What type of device are you using? The easiest and fastest way to change audio sources is to give a command. To do so, press the voice command button on the steering wheel and say USB. For a list of all available commands and more, check out:

http://Support.Ford.com/sync-technol...ategories-sync

If any other questions pop up, don't hesitate to shoot me a PM.

Yes, it does. The passenger operates as expected and the driver does not.

I took the car in yesterday to the dealership, they checked it out and then called Ford today for more ideas, and they've ordered a new door latch mechanism.

Saying "Bluetooth Audio" to Sync does work! A little annoying that I have to do it whenever I start the vehicle, but at least I don't have to jumble around with multiple buttons to get the music to start playing.
