Kyle, I agree 100% about the current S550 as the best selling car in it's class both here in the U.S and globally.. However which S550 is it.. Is it the EcoBoost 4, GT or perhaps both

It may be the best seller in it's class but I don't think it's the best car in it's class.

All. They don't differentiate.

Based on what you post on this forum, you don't like any gen of Mustang much. 🙄

Well IMO if the S550 weren't such an excellent product, it wouldn't be the best seller in it's class to begin with.. As it took the number 1 best seller in it's class previously held by the 5th generation Camaro.. Therefore Ford must be doing something right !

Thanks for clarifying Kyle

Sure got that right Kyle, except only when it comes to the 2005-09 generation

So far, I've got about 8000 miles in 8 months and no problems at all. Those of us who don't have problems just don't get noticed the way people with problems do.

All cars have their problems regardless of what model and who the manufacturer is.. That's the purpose of what a manufacture's warranty is designed for.. It doesn't matter what brand or who the manufacturer is, there is no such thing as a perfect made car, like all machines, they all brake down from time to time..

Don't you think???
I think your assumption of more problems is based on what you see on an Internet forum, which is not at all an accurate measure of reliability, or not. Less than 1% of the people that buy new Mustangs end up on this forum, probably less than 1/2%. Nobody comes on here to join & post, "Well, just hit 10,000 miles and my car is perfect!" but they sure do join to ***** about a random issue and then disappear forever.

The people that actually do measure quality of vehicles (Consumer Reports, J.D. Power, TrueDelta) say the Mustang is overall average to slightly above average reliability and that's been true for a long time. Those are fare more accurate than guessing based on forum posts.

And it's fine to have your belief that the S500 isn't "the best", which is completely subjective, but the sales numbers say it is, which is a wholly objective measure.

I'm still partial to the S197. Before I bought the 2014 I did a back seat test in both the S550 and the S197. There is no head room in the back seat of the S550. How are you suppose to have fun with the family when all they do is bang their heads on the the roof or rear window. This car was more meant to be a two seater.
Plenty of head room in the 2014. Lots of memories to be had.

Mustangs have never been notorious for their back seat headroom other than the convertible and notchback models.. Even the 1st generation 2+2 fastback cars weren't very practical in which you were lucky to fit teenagers in the back seat that were under 5ft tall.. As for adults over 5-6ft tall, they can pretty much forget about backseat headroom altogether

Best-selling can also mean the most cars pushed to dealer lots. The customer doesn't actually have to buy the car for Ford to mark it down as "sold". I see lots and lots of EcoBoost Mustangs sitting in dealer lots. For the same price point as the GT, the Camaro SS and Scat Pack Charger/Challenger are much better cars. That being said, if I didn't already have a Mustang, I'd wait for the 2018-2020 GT.

I test drove a '15 ecoboost with my daughters and they both said my '13 had more headroom.

Ask your dad.

EDIT: Or your mother. Actually, maybe mother first.

You're exactly 100% spot on Berzerk.. As just how in the hell in God's name would she even think about expecting anyone other than her parents to provide an answer to such a question.. The reason I misinterpreted her question to begin with was that I was under the assumption that she was directing it towards me in which completely confused the hell out of me, as I couldn't understand why nor what she meant by it

You would also think that after reading the last 3 posts in this thread concerning lack of backseat headroom, most people would know the answer and figure it out for themselves anyhow lol.

For everyone *****ing about current Mustangs. Why don't you try this?
Buy an older mustang, keep your older mustang, or better yet start a new car company and make a new mustang. But don't call it a mustang because you know trademark and such.
Otherwise buy something else.

That pretty much sums it up. Jason I think we can shut down the forum now I solved all the problems in a few sentences.

Did Ford announce a while back that they had to move up the Update schedule for the new Mustang as the sales where starting to slide? I still like my 2014 better than the new one and it kicks the new ones A**.
