Anyone else like me still not liking the S550 design?
Just wondering how many of you out there feel the same way i do, i just cant get excited with the new mustangs thats coming out. Some say it grows on you but never did with me, still cant get used to the weird looking front and rear design. S550 design in my opinion lost the masculine American muscle car look. I personally love the 11-14 design, I dont think ill ever sell my 13' GT had it since day 1.
Anyone here excited with the upcoming Dodge Demon or C8 mid engine vettes? With some money saved up i have really been thinking about getting a supercharger, possibly a Roush phase 2(625HP). With the 13's being lighter than the hellcat, around 800lbs do you think i can out run a hellcat in a race?

I actually don't dislike the S550, despite the fact that it's design is more modern and less retro compared to the now previous S197 generation..
However IMHO.. I consider the design of the current S550 as being an evolution of the S197 at least when looking at the car from just a visual point of view anyhow.. But as I also mentioned, the S550 is also more modern and less retro in the styling dept over the S197 as well..
So although the S550 is considered light years ahead in both design and technology over the previous S197 generation.. If I had to choose between the S550 over the classic/retro styling of the S197.. My choice would still be the S197 hands down

I purposely bought my 2014 after seeing what the S550 looked like, but
They are growing on me and I love the Gt350!
On the same note I parked next to a 2016 yesterday and I still like the way mine looks better, I would not trade!

I have not been able to warm up to the S550. It looks unfinished to me. Between the fusion front and the strange rear, it doesn't look muscular anymore. I can get on board with the GT350. The sound alone plus the performance, and the more aggressive looks make it more palatable.
I think with SC, smaller pulley, good injectors, some suspension mods and great tires you can give a hell kitty a run for it's money.
I am excited about a mid engine Vette. I also really like the '17 Camaro 1LE. Right now that would be my top choice if something happened to my S197. Between GT350R performance and $45k price tag (almost $20k less!!) it's hard to ignore. It looks better than the S550 in my opinion too. More edges. I can't get excited about the Mustang lately. Perhaps in 2020.

Interesting topic. I myself started a similar thread about a year ago.
Have my feelings changed? Meh... so-so. Marilyn is staying with me forever, so I'm a sucker for the 11-12 bodystyle. The 2015 plus, is slowly growing on me, I don't dislike it more now than I didn't before. It's ok. Some days I like it more, some days less. I wouldn't kick it out of my garage if I had one.
The GT350 I do like. Maybe power and sound can overcome looks. haha.
Reap... what's new about the 2018 versus the 2015? I haven't been keeping tabs. Got a pic?

I also bought a 14 after seeing what Ford was offering for the 2015 MY.
What bothers me more than the looks, ( MY 2015 - 18 ) is the fact that Ford continues to bring a knife to the HP gun fight..

saw some youtube quarter mile times on the roush phase1-2, those numbers didnt look so good. I thought stock 13'gt auto was a mid to low 12 second car but with roush phase 1(575hp) they were only getting low 12's.
ahhh digital gauges...........yay for more expensive useless electronics to fail. I personally love the analog gauges, love seeing physical needle in action.

And digital gauges are awesome. All the information you need, none you don't. The customization aspect of LCD gauges is worth the risk in my opinion. It would help me not bounce off the rev limiter as much.

I also bought the '14 after the '15 was unveiled. I did not like the S550 at all when it came out.
Over time, I've gotten used to the '15-'17. I rented one on a trip and loved the way it drove. But I love seeing my '14 in the driveway.
The best way I can describe my feelings for the '18 is that the looks are less objectionable than the 17. I might be tempted to switch. The magnetorheological damping would make it easier to use the same car on and off road so I could get also sell my S2000.

Same here in terms of buying my '14 after seeing the '15. The '18 is making me change my mind about the new style, though. The headlights sill bother me but I think it's looking better. That being said, I'm keeping my '14 for a very long time.

I don't necessarily dislike the S550, but I really like my S197 and intend to keep it for a long time. If something unexpectedly happens to my 2011, I would consider a new S550 as a replacement.
