Well, maybe if this Autoblog item has any credence, perhaps while a TT3.5 might be a ways off, a GDI 3.7 with up to 330hp might be more plausible:

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/11/2...on-of-gdi-v-6/

Given the G37 Coupe's 330hp on a similar-sized V6, though with a slightly different technological approach (variable valve lift vs. GDI), that's certainly plausible. Maybe they'd go a slightly tuned down approach with but 300hp a bit down the rev range.

Of course, Ford would need to bump the 4.6 V8 significantly to keep the pecking order intact. Maybe plug in a GDI system on that to get 375hp or so on 87 octane and decent mileage...?

Its interesting that Ford isn't shy about talking about their plans for the 4 bangers & V6's yet they are hush about the V8's. Makes me worry for some reason?
Anyway, I am thrilled to see GDI in Ford Vehicles.

There was just an article in Automotive news dtd 7/2/07 discussing Fords 2-turbo engine plans on 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engines. It stated that the first vehicle to use this technology is the upcoming 2008 Lincoln MKS????
