I am going to do it the other way around. First I upgrade the suspension, strut tower brace and sway bars are on the way, and than I'll upgrade the powertrain. I think it is better to really get the power on the ground before adding even more power.
I have the diablosport for the 91oct tune and speed limiter erase.

A friend told me, that there is no real issue with the driveshaft on the V6, they have even the same part no. just like the V8. Even a race mechanic told me, that I don't have to change the driveshaft!?! So what is true?
For me, the driveshaft is last on my list.

Your friend is wrong. The V6 driveshaft is different, which is why the car is limited to 112 MPH.

This is just one of a bunch of videos on YouTube showing what happens when you remove the speed limiter with the stock driveshaft:

the gt shaft is 2 piece, shorter and has a center support bearing. v6 is one piece and has not center support.

You realize that the V6 has a two piece driveshaft? I have been under my 2014 V6 many times and the two piece drive shaft is always there... begging to be replaced.

Could it be a production change according to year?

My 11 V6 had a 2 price shaft. (100% positive)

My 11 3.7 definitely had a 2 piece shaft as well.

I'm wondering if 1) that is indeed true and if the newer driveshafts are safe at higher speeds, and 2) if Ford raised the top speed for the V6 with performance package, as the ~112 limit is pretty ridiculous (my Focus SE can go faster.....). Can anyone with a 2014 V6 with performance package confirm the top speed? Hopefully a new driveshaft won't be required to hit the road course...and that speed limiter seems low enough to possibly cause issues as well.
OP, I totally forgot until recently I took my performance pack v6 to 120 before the limiter kicked in. I believe those without the PP are limited to 112 mph. Not 100% sure about this but I am sure about mines. There was no tune on it and everything was completely stock as this was at a track shortly after I got it.

go to page 4 of the " Aluminum Driveshaft - How important is it?" thread. people advertise the stock as being two piece and that you need a one piece but really the stock is a one piece with a slip yoke in the center and you just need another one piece with a slip yoke at the end for higher speeds.

Doesn't the presence of the slip-yoke mean it is a two piece unit? The slip-yoke connects two pieces?

:sigh:

A 2 piece means its hinged with a CV joint.

All 1 piece shafts for an SRA have to have a slip yoke. Otherwise going over bumps would beat on either your diff or trans. Think about it.

This is the factory 2 piece from a GT:

From the 2008 Mustang Workshop Manual from Ford:

"The driveshaft must be able to rotate smoothly through a range of acceptable angles and lengths occurring during normal driving conditions."

The GT and GT500 have 2 piece shafts and says "The CV equipped driveshafts control angle and length changes through the CV joins and use a center support bearing for driveshaft stability."
The Manual also discusses the 1 piece used in the 4.0 V6 08 Mustang:

"A 1 piece driveshaft assembly consists of... a driveshaft slip yoke, a driveshaft slip yoke boot...." "The U-joints permit the change in driveshaft angularity with the slip yoke allowing the variance in length."
This is a 1 piece - even though it has a slip yoke:

Oh my god I can't believe you guys still don't get it. It either has one shaft or two shorter shafts. One piece or two piece.
DONE!!! Anything other than this description on your mustang is WRONG!
How many times can you argue wrong ****?
The end.
