Yeah, Yesterday was 7 weeks for me and ETA is 07/26, that's another month of wait just for it to be shipped since it's already done building. At that rate, i'd rather just drive down to Michigan to pick it up myself...It's only 14 hours there.

 

The frustrating thing is why my dealer did not tell us about the factory shut down. It would of made a difference to me whether to purchase one from a dealer or to order one or to wait for 2015 model.

Hi members,

Stopped by my dealership tonight and was told that Ford was changing the 7/8 $2,000 to end on 7/1 and should be coming out with a new one, they did not know anything about the details. Not sure why it would change from 7/8 to 7/1, unless they wanted to increase the amount - hoping in that direction.

 

As promised, here are pix of my new GT. For reference, my car was ordered on 5/20 and I got it 5 weeks and 1 day later on 6/25. My window sticker posted only two weeks prior to delivery! I got so lucky on the timeline. I included a pic of the rear axle. I don't know if this a Track Pack axle or all GTs come like this now, but it has the BOSS diff cover (finned and drain plug), and the axle is painted black, unlike S197s or years past...just icing on the cake for me!

I have not really driven it yet, but I love this car! Good luck to all those pending orders out there. My FRPP mods are coming: Power Pack, Adjustable Handling Pack, GT-500 Brake Kit, Brake Cooling duct kit, transmission scoop. I'll probably do all of it at once to minimize the work, so I'd like to get some driving time while still stock to compare. Did I mention I love this car!

 

Hopefully they won't play with you on the rebates. I think my issues were an anomaly and my salesman was just not informed. You should be locked in and they can't go lower. I haven't heard anyone else have this issue. I think the rebates will go up like they did in May from 1500 to 2000.

 

Nice looking ride, Dinosoar! Your differential pic made me get up out of my chair, grab the flashlight, and look under my own car (I have the same cover and axle- looks pretty cool). I have the track package too- perhaps the 3.73 Torsen diff comes with that cover? I noticed there are also some purple and white paper tags on the axle that read "1 LEFT."

Thanks for the comments on the stripes. I work in an office where I have a view over the parking lot, and it was fun to watch people checking out the car today (definitely more than pre-stripes ). I work for a French company, and one of the marketing guys that is visiting from Charenton said "That is a bad-*** car" (sounds funny with a French accent )!

The silver is Helix light gray metallic.

Only other changes for now will be installation of the FRPP Power Pack that is due to arrive tomorrow (GT500 mufflers, filters, and the Ford Racing Procal tune). Just passed 1,200 miles today!

For those still waiting on your orders, trust me- the final version of the S197 is pretty close to Mustang perfection!

 

Picked it up a few hours ago !!! The long wait was worth it !!! I ordered on 4/11 and it finally showed up late yesterday.
My dealer honored the agreed upon $500 below invoice price and they also honored my $750 coupon which had expired on 5/8, on top of the $1500 rebate in my region.

I wonder if the dealer is eating the coupon value as it was expired, or if ford will still reimburse them. Just got my first coupon, and it expires aug 16. Hope I won't still be waiting, but the shut down may keep me in limbo past that date.

Just got the good news from the almighty Deysha today that mine is in Mass. awaiting to get on a truck to be delivered to my dealer...can I hope that it will be earlier than the 7/11 ETA?? Got a road trip 4th of July weekend, would be great to have her by then!

I am also being told that will be my production date, and I am worried about the same issue. How can you set up a plant to make a totally different vehicle without something going wrong? Not only worried about delays but also that it could affect quality.

The rear diff cover comes with the track pack as I recall. I have it as well. Looks great and should help with cooling a bit I imagine.

The "right away" upgrade list sounds excellent. I am flushing brake fluid this weekend with Motul RBF600 and my Pagid RST pads are coming shortly wish I had funding to do the suspension right away but it will have to wait

 

Wow, wait seems longer than usual. I got a PM from Deysha and my sticker should be up end of July, and ETA is 8/20/13. Just a week behind your timeline.

 

Flat Rock builds the Mustang and Mazda 6. The Mazda part of the plant is getting replaced with a Fusion line. The mustang line should remain intact I would hope.
