What a steaming pile of crap.
If the wheel flies off on the freeway and launches itself into the middle of a lake, do we have to get a diving team to recover it so they can warranty the fix?
I CANNOT believe that Ford Motor Company's official stance on situations like this is "well, you don't have the part, so tough ****".

If the part is needed and missing and the car is under warranty, then something must be wrong to make it go away...
Ford should have fixed it with a smile!

Exactly, and that's $50 MSRP. Their cost is WAY less, even if they were to have just given me the new piece I have no issue putting it on. Just leaves a bit of a bad taste. If the car were 3, 4 years old sure, but 11,000 miles and a 2014? Come on. Like I've mentioned, we haven't even made our first payment and I've already had to pay for something that shouldn't have happened in the first place. Makes me even question that extended warranty we bought.
It's only a $50 part, but it's more the principle of it that gets me.
