Yeah, Roush/Saleen/SMS have to hate this - the factory versions are getting so good and so powerful, that there's not much those aftermarket guys can do anymore, IMO.
One thing I haven't seen yet is any power increase on the V6 - with that incredible 350 HP figure getting announced by Hyundai for the new Genesis coupe, Ford and GM have some catching up to do, but maybe Ford's going to wait for the 2015 to debut a better V6 and maybe an EcoBoost 4 too?

2 questions...
1. if the shelby is not made by shelby anymore, then why are they still putting his name on it?? seems they just want to charge and extra $10k for his name...(unless i read the article wrong)
2. would anyone like to buy a slightly used (8,500 miles) 2006 GT redfire, 5sp, garage kept??

There's still a lot to see regarding the 2013 that hasn't come out yet.
-Look of sequentials on the new tails
-Reverse lamps
-Detail of headlamps on/off
-Premium gauges with MyColor
-Pony projection side mirror lamps
-Gotta Have It Green
-Cloth/leather Recaros for V6/GT
-Brembo GT wheels (if they've changed)
-GT/CS interior and other tweaks
Floor pics from LA should answer more questions in the next few days.
In other news, the ZL1 Camaro will cost $54,995. It's time to hear what the GT500 will cost. I'm guessing right now it'll be close to $55k, with both the PP and TP options putting it around $59-60k.

Overboost, any word if the regular boss is carrying over the same wheels from last year? The fact that the stripes are now flat/reflective the gloss wheels may look way out of place.

marketing BS. thats all. we have known for couple years now that the gt500's are made by SVT. and if you dont think so, look at the engine one time and see what the engine plate says....made by SVT for Ford.
doesnt say the "s" word...
he had his time....lets pass it on. make real cars. not some fancy slap on decals and call it a winner.
(can you tell im not a shelby fan?)

Only certain tuner versions like the GT500KR, the Super Snake and the GT350 receive some final assembly at Shelby American, but even all those cars are based on more or less finished cars from Michigan, just like Saleen, Roush, Steeda or SMS cars.
In my opinion Shelby is just another tuner, like the other ones I mentioned. Using the name Shelby for a factory Ford SVT product is just a marketing thing I guess, meant to enhance the retro theme. What it should be called is an SVT Cobra, just like the previous generation.
EDIT: Apparently discussed to death already

HP
You can get a mustang with 305/420/444/550 horsepower. Seems like a good spread to me. When are the order forms coming out? Is there a CS? Ford is not cutting down on the options list for sure.

I posted this in the Shelby forum, but I guess it applies here too. It is pretty interesting.

Im completely blown away with Fords effort...especially with the GT500.
I will definately be getting the 13' Gt500.
Has anyone noticed the top of the new TVS blower is stamped with
SVT....cant tell if it says ford racing also.
Awesome job Ford!

This is a bit morbid, but I'm calling this now...Carroll passes away next year, last year of Shelby Mustangs, Ford offers tribute to honor him with 700hp, 2015 debuts, 2016 return of SVT Cobra.....

OH.
MY.
GOD.
I LOVE THEM ALL!!!! So so happy to see that the black trim that really turned me off about my last Mustang is GONE! What an overall difference a bunch of small changes can make. I used to be one of the few that wasn't overly enamored with the Boss...mind changed!!!
I don't have my 5.0 anymore, but I think I might be dumping one of my other cars to get a 2013. Wow!

I like the updated styling on the both the GT and V6 front fascia along with the complimenting updated hood which are all reminiscent of the Shelby.
The rear end and tail lights are worthy now with the few simple tweaks they have made.
SelectShift Automatic should make slushbox drivers happy too.
Nice upgrade on components all around as well adopting stiffening, power and stopping improvements.
The result of all of this is that listens
