2013 Mustang to get GT500 styling cues, increase in horsepower
My point is that in any review the Mustang V-6 trumps the Camaro RS. With the 5.0 and SS this is not the case and can easily depend on the driver. The Camaro 6.2 shows it's strength here in acceleration past 70 mph. C&D and R&T had the SS beating the 5.0 in 1/4 mile times which is why I said the increase in HP is a good idea for the GT in 2013. I am a Mustang guy and really don't care for Camaro's, but with the V-8's it is a tight race unlike the V-6's.

"Many of the rumors in the past few months have been regarding the 2015 Mustang, but as we initially reported last month, Ford will first unveil a redesigned Mustang in 2013 before we see the next generation pony car from the Blue Oval"
Must be reliable info since they can't even get through the first line without making a mistake. I think you mean "refreshed". It will be nothing close to a full redesign. Sheesh.

For me, personally, I really like the current size of the Mustang. If they "fix" the rear, I think it would really be the perfect Mustang (to my tastes). Everyone loved the front end (except the "mutton chops"), but the rear received a lot of criticism - some deserved, most exaggerated.
Can't wait to see it.

Comparatively, Motor Trend has the 2011 Mustang 5.0L outperforming the 6.2L Camaro SS in all but one acceleration test, including those clocked at high speeds (actually, MT shows the Mustang outperforming the Camaro in virtually every conceivable way including handling and braking). The 45-65 mph passing figure is the only performance metric where the Mustang isn't superior as, at 2.1 seconds, it's the same for both cars. At 12.7 seconds vs. 13.1 seconds, Motor Trend has the Mustang beating its Chevrolet rival considerably (that's a pretty significant margin in the quarter-mile).

If one wanted, they could sit back and nit-pick all day -- "Ford should do this; the engineers should have done that," but that doesn't take away from the fact that the current Mustang is repeatedly lauded as one of the best American cars available. You don't see any Camaro SS vs. BMW M3 comparisons, do you? Just think about it, the current, "regular" Mustang GT is as excellent as it is now in terms of acceleration, handling, braking, etc -- with the injection of Boss DNA it's sure to receive, in addition to everything else Ford surely has up its sleeves, I don't think we have anything to worry about.
Marz, I agree and in every review I have ever seen the Mustang beats the Camaro overall. The Mustang also has a tremendous advantage on it's side being weight. The Camaro engine is considerably bigger, but that is where it makes up ground with the Mustang with acceleration from 70 on up to top speed. That is why I think the extra HP in the 5.0 is a good thing especially if it makes 425hp on regular gas as this would truly be a 25hp upgrade.
