So, 5 out of 6 anniversary milestones came and went without any kind of bump in power. And while it's still possible that the '15's may get a power bump, it wouldn't be just because of an anniversary.
That's good info. I was saying the bump might happen in 2015 since there is rumor of the 5.0 twin turbo Eco boost. I figured that would be a perfect combo for a big release.

To add...in 1993 they dropped HP rating to 205hp from 225hp then bumped it in 1994 to 215hp...Just some new measuring system not anything performance wise.

Perhaps 2013 will be when the inevitable DI setup makes it's appearance?

I can hear the complaints about those ticking injectors already!!

Here is what someone said on S197 Forum

"I was driving here on 119 going to work and I saw a covered up with black bra's and such mustang. It was white. Looked to have a front end like 2010+ but the tail lights looked more of the 05-09 cars. The spoiler was long like my GT500. And that's all I can tell you guys because it was going the other way."

Considering what Ford's been able to do without direct injection in the first-generation 5.0's, both Coyote and 747 Boss, I doubt we'll see a DI 5.0L any time soon, if ever.

I'd love to see the half-mile times you're referring to. To that end, and given a long stretch like that, I'd say the times you get are a better indication of how the car is geared, its aerodynamics, etc, and less to do with its powertrain as a whole. I have to admit, I've never heard of a half-mile race, let alone seen anything like it.

Nice. That would seem to be in line with the recent article that suggested a more "straight" horizontal rear lights. Can't wait to see it. As much as we love our rides, the rear is the weak point in design, in my opinion.

Sounds like the 13 is going to be something Special for all Mustangs. Glad I waited. Now we need to see something soon...

Agreed, and if the '15 doesn't offer GB then no deal Howie. By then my '11 will be paid off so I'd like to add another pony to the stable

With the new fuel economy standards coming down the pipe, they couldnt turn down measurably better fuel economy as well as a power bump of a similar magnitude.

Besides, iirc, there is a provision in the Coyote head design for the injector.

And are you guys crazy hating on the '10+ tail lights? I LOVE the rear end of my car, I think its WAY better than 05-09's

How about a mile drag race?

I've been told several times, don't expect a DI 5.0

I think you should expect one.

Does that offset at least one of your previous bits of interweb advice that the DI isn't coming?

Here's an old thread...but it contains the pic of the cylinder head that I'm remembering...

Having discussed this with an engineer who works in ICE at Ford, I can say for certain that it's not getting DI, and that bump in the chamber is not a "future" DI port.

Ok... well that might be true...despite the anonymous source... and I think we would all be glad to not have our motors completely outdated so quickly.

On the other hand, it's hard to imagine that Ford wouldn't do it if it was possible.

Sweet, glad I didn't pull the trigger on upgrading to a '12. Gonna hold out and see what '13 brings us.
