2012 GT finally arrived! Few Rebate Questions....

I didn't know your $750 coupon was expired, that makes a difference. He could've called his zone rep and got your coupon approved, however, with little effort on his part. It's been done hundreds of times. He sounds like a real a-hole. What dealership was it?

Today, I asked my salesman to make sure all the rebates were correct. He came back and stated, its one or the other. Meaning, I can take the Greater of the rebates at the time of the order or now at the time of delivery. So either 500 and my 750 cash from 6/10 OR the 500 and the 1000 now. And says I cant add the private cash.
Sorry about the way this went for you. I looked into this and I found the rebates you received are correct. Since the $750 coupon was expired, you could not use that one, so you were only eligible for the $500 and the $1000 incentives.

This is all wrong . . . unless the dealer never locked your rebates in the first place. This is the same thing that happened to my dad and he got the $2,250. We ordered 3/28 with a $750 coupon that expired sometime in May. Rebates at the time were only $500 for $1,250 total. When his car came in 7/28 rebates were $1,000 + $500 and the coupon was locked in for a total of $2,250 off.
My dealer explained to me that they enter the order as sold with a customer name when placed. Then when the car comes in to get the locked rebates the customer on that order has to purchase within 5 days of the car hitting the dealers lot. In that case the customer gets the better of the rebate at the time of order or delivery for EACH individual rebate/certificate.
You need to keep calling people till you get someone who better understands the program.

I originally got someone who told me I was entitled to the 2250 at FCS, but ever since the day came to pick up my car everyone then said it was no good. My dealer said if I find someone who is willing to approve it at Ford he has no problem doing it. Or if I can get Ford to send me a new coupon which encompasses 8/22 when i took delivery. I would love to just walk in there with a rebate because the manager basically giggled in my face when I told him I think I had a right to it and know people who had gotten it. It made me want to get up and squash the deal but of course after waiting so long you just want the car. Its just annoying that you can get so many different answers from different people at Ford. If I was told from the get go that I was only going to be entitled to that, it would be no big deal. Its just almost like Ford waived this Coupon at you to get you in the dealership and then yanks it away down the line, even though it was "locked in"
