I officially proposed that these be called "Piano-Key" tailights.

Personally: YUCK!

Is the next SE going to be a Billy Joel Mustang?

Candy cane would be more apporpriate

If they were piano keys .. the one colour would only go 3/4s up

Thats correct, they put padding to hide the real size/shape.

Yeah, exactly. We have not seen the final product yet. So everyone who's saying their minds are made up, there's still more to be revealed. It's too soon to be make it or break it. These taillights may still turn out to be a good fit for the new design. Only time will tell.

Its so hard to tell with all those **** camouflage stickers covering pretty much everything. But the tail lights are looking like its the same shape.

Not me! I loved that thing from Day1. Its not perfect, but I think Ford got it at least 80% right.

Oh I liked it too, but I can remember the COMPLAINING about how it looked.
And that was without any camo.
The pics were fisheye lensed white mustang GT pics.
(If I remember correctly they were taken at a supplier that was creating the washer fluid resevoir ... )

It was amazing how the tone changed when they saw it later.
Same car ...

I think you are quite correct, in fact if you look closly at the camo and over the third eye it would seem as though someone puzzle pieced this together from many images.

And get rid of the yellow color to the lenses and make them clear with an amber bulb.

Still, nothing in the spy shots is making me want to trade in my "06". Mostly it is making me feel good I got an 05 thru 09 model...

It is lookiing more 1973 than 69/70. I would prefer round LED back up in the lower bumper and clean defined tail light. But, After mark could have a lot of fun with the size and shape and layout.

I still say the chrome would be ok with a brushed look and black trim in the center horizontal indent.

I'm also one who thinks I'll be hanging onto my '07 GT for a long time to come. There isn't a day goes by when I see a S197 GT or Shelby drives by that I stop and think to myself that I am glad I own one, too.

So far - not impressed with the next Stang.

That's the great thing about having an '05+ ('06 GT coupe, in my case) - if the '10 is a hit, it's great to have something to look forward to, but if it's not there's nothing wrong with hanging on to one's current car.

It's win-win, IMHO...

I HOPE THE CAR RESEMBLES THOSE SKETCHES THAT WERE UP ON JALOPNIK AWHILE AGO.

Could this be what the tail lights look like uncovered? It's a 2005 early clay model.

Don't they look like '69 - '70 rear lights a little?
