I think December sales were so good that that Ford believes the high incentives are not need now. They want to sell every car with no incentives if possible to enlarge their income. Personally I believe the high December sales will not continue and Ford will increase the incentives in February. Not all people are aware or want 412 HP and a 6 speed in a nice looking car. Until the dealers start advertising the '11 Mustangs in the showrooms and/or Ford does on TV will most people become aware of the new model and its possible performance.
Personally I want a '10 GT in Grabber Blue with the TrackPack and I could care less about the 412 Hp & 6 speed in the '11. I am just not going to overspend IMO on a '10 versus the cost of an '11.

Ya didnt really expect it, i love my 2010 plus i got to get it a year plus earlier cuz i only paid a couple hundred over invoice (no xplan avail to me) who knows when the 2011s are going to get that low, i forecasted being able to place an order on a 2011 around october 2010 for that price, but i didnt want to pick it up in december so i would have waited till late jan 2011 to order for march 2011 delivery. with the 2010 timing will be just right for a 2013-2014 SVT/shelby whatever is factory top dog for the new complete redesign

I am confused, here in the Northeast, the incentives seem to have dwindled significantly to the tune of $2k or 0% financing for 36 months. How is Ford planning on moving the large inventory of 2010s?

The only thing I can think of is that there aren't a whole lot of 2010s sitting on lots. The build wasn't too long, and most dealers knew that the 3.7 & 5.0 were coming so they weren't ordering alot of 2010 (its what we did). We only have 3 2010s left, a GB GT, 5-speed manual Pony Pkg and a 5-speed auto Pony Pkg (my demo). That said, they may raise the rebates once the orders are taken for the 2011s.

Not tring to get off topic, but i do a 'pretend order' from time to time on a 2010 V-6 Premium at 'The Ford Motor Company' price and build web site. Sometime in the past 10 or so days Ford has raised the 'base price' on the 2010 V-6 Premium by $400.00. I don't know if the 'base prices' on the other 2010 Mustangs went up $400.00 or not because i wasn't checking them, but i bet they did go up. I guess Ford is doing this so the price increase for the 2011's won't be such a shock.......Maybe?

MSRP on all 2010 Mustangs invoiced after January 1st, 2010 went up $400. I noted this in another thread somewhere a couple weeks ago when it was announced. As Jeff said, a lot of Ford products saw price adjustments on January 1st. All manufacturers do this regularly. Ford typically does it every fiscal quarter.

Hey buddy, if you ordered a car in December, you have Price Protection on orders. Just make sure you pick the car up within 7 days if it arriving and the dealership will file for Price Protection and you pay what is listed on your DORA when you ordered it. Your not subject to the increase as you already had an order in to Ford.
