If it was...it was people hoping VS people knowing...

------
Black rockers (if I remember) were said to be on the GT as well.
This was probably one of the 'visual tricks' that help the car look thinner/smaller.
-------
I'll wait on the WLink vs Current setup.
Could very well be the old wheels/tires/rear end just to throw us off.
or....
....the old suspension.

I understood this to be a fairly recent development car, so what you are seeing on the underbelly is probably going to be what you get.

They did mention they incorporated an undertray-type component behind the front fascia to help manage airflow and cut down on drag, thus improving fuel economy.

I thought I heard that there WOULD be a 19" wheel option, and that they had to work hard between designers and engineers to get the look while keeping the wheel mass in check.

There was a confirmation of a 2010 Shelby version of this car (I presume GT500, corraborating what's already been shared for awhile).

Bear in mind that the Watts Link is heavier than a panhard bar setup, and weight savings are becoming gospel in Blue Oval Land. Could see it on SEs, but the panhard is likely it on the GT until GRWD comes in 2013/14.

Pretty sure the black rockers you're seeing is the camo wrap.

Can someone use that shot to highlight all the acceptable jack/stand points?

I don't think thats the camo. You can see the camo stop at the bottom of the door. It's not rigid and straight like the rocker panel. You can also see where the camo wraps over the bottom of the front end and it's clearly a fabric rather than a solid looking piece like on the rockers. Unless it's a plastic piece that they are using to cover the rocker...but why not just paint it. Maybe there is some detailing down there they want to hide.

I guess this also pretty much solidifies the carry over 4.6 idea as well, since those pizza cutter tires and moderate exhaust sure don't look 400hp 5.0 worthy to me. Although I'm still hoping it's a performance 6 rather than the GT.

Also I really wish someone with a brain would start carrying a camera with them. Every spy shot we've seen has made no attempt at getting a look at the details that can answer questions. Like why wouldn't you get a good shot of the underside of the engine so we verify if it is a 4.6. Why take useless pics from the angle they did??!!

Just me getting antsy and venting

There were many people with brains and a camera there, but it was limited as to how close people could approach the car.

As reported by a couple members on this board, the new 5.0 will not be GDI. That will follow later.

Sort of a low-importance question, but did you happen to find out if the 5.0 will use a CGI block? I've heard plenty of people say both yeah and neigh.....

I don't know. I can ask. All I have ever read is that Ford is using CGI on Diesel engines.

I thought so as well, but I recently had 2 knowledgable people bring it up again in conversations elsewhere. Its still unlikely, but I'm not above triple-checking.

BlueII mentioned it a possiblity a while back....and people started mentioning it.
..but he changed his tune.

If I'm not mistaken it wasn't needed at its cost.

Doesn't mean they were never looking at it as an option, or in testing
