I'll have to admit I'm at that point in my life where I've had a fast car & now I'm happy with a reasonably fast car that has a lot more comfort & is a pleasure to drive. Our 2013 GT500 was an outright beast. In the 3 years that we had it, nothing could keep up with it; Camaros, Vettes and even 911s.
But then the new Mustang came out and it was so much better. Better handling, better comfort, just better. Not as fast. But that's OK.
I've driven enough of the new Camaros to know that the absolutely worst part of the car is the A-pillar. It seems like it blocks half of your vision! For some reason, it reminds me of the HHR with tiny windows & restricted view out of the back.
For now, I'm happy with our Mustang. As a matter of fact, if I had a choice to choose one of the 2 cars pictured below for free, it'd be the slower, more comfortable blue car. The GT350 is no GT500. And the 50YLE is no GT350. But I'm okay with that.
And a Camaro, no matter how fast it is, if I wanted fast with very restricted views, I'd buy a C7.
Just curious. Why are you posting photo's of an S550 on an S197 forum? I had to ask. There are forums for the S550 cars. Personally I prefer the raw feel of the S197 cars. The S550 is a bit too refined for me. It kind of got away from what a muscle car is for me. Raw and unrefined. I waited until the reveal before I ordered my car. I was anxious to see the S550 car. Once I saw the car I knew I had to order an S197. So I did within a few days. Then after I test drove an S550 I was even more glad I did. This is the metaphor I'll use. It's like driving a Lexus vs a Mustang. The S550 being the Lexus in that metaphor. They drive well, handle well, offer a nice smooth ride, and provide little to no road feedback. At any rate your cars are very nice, and I love the colors.
As for the comments regarding the Camaro being faster. It's a teater-totter effect. If you can all recall the Camaro was faster than the 4.6L S197 cars until the S197 got an upgraded Coyote power plant. Ford is also notorious for not introducing upgraded drivetrains when they introduce new platforms. The redesigned S197 in 2010 was still 4.6 powered. I am certain that in a year or two Ford will introduce a new powertrain combination that will put the Mustang ahead of the Camaro and the scale will tip in our favor for a few years until GM or Dodge do the same. At any rate, that's how I see it. As an S197 owner, my real jealousy is that the 2015+ 5.0 engine utilizes a much stronger rotating assembly than the S197 5.0 engine. Other than that I have zero envy.
And I am not being a jerk asking the question I did. I was just curious and again nice cars! Fortunately for us the Mustang still looks better than the Camaro or the Challenger.
Robert, I think you mean S197 sub-forum ... the site itself is for all Mustangs, but this thread is in the 2010-2014 sub-forum, so yeah, posting pics of a 2015+ car really should be done in their sub-forum ...

The S550 has really grown on me. Not only does it look completely different from any other Mustang, but it looks slightly better IMO. Now every time I look at my '13, I see a big, fat, tall, square-looking car. ESPECIALLY with the thick lower side skirts that are body colored.

Here is a picture of our 13 vert & our 15 Stang. Like the pictures posted above, you can see the difference in size.
We have rain all day here in Indy. It's going to wash all the salt away, and then it's going to be in the upper 40's tomorrow. I can't wait to get the car out and give it a wash tomorrow! Maybe I'll get some pics.
