Attended a showshine and dyno for a local dealer launching their new performance division. they are a Roush dealer as well. The shephard pup stole the show for me though ![Smile](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I went to a model car show today, one of the premier events and holy grails of national car modeling in the US. There were in excess of 1500 models, mostly 1/24-1/25 scale in all different classes....customs, replica stock, hot rods, trucks, you name it. There were also about 75 vendors, some from as far away as Great Britain selling kits, detail supplies, aftermarket parts, tools, and custom paints.
I was quite involved in the hobby up until about 12 years ago and worked in various mediums like plastic, resin, real metal, wood, and aluminum. Small wire, braided lines, tubing, brake lines, leather, and a ton of scratch building all goes into the serious side of model car creations. I built mostly hot rods and customs and won my fair share of awards and even got some media coverage in various model magazines. I was considered pretty good among my peers. But the level of paint and detail quality today has grown by leaps and bounds in my absence. I doubt if I could compete in today's circuit. Besides, I have a really big model car sitting in my garage now.
It's not uncommon for a builder to spend hundreds of dollars and a year's worth of time to create a show quality entry. Sounds like us in a smaller scale, huh?
There's plenty of Mustang content in 1/25 plastic kit form available. I spotted new 2007 and 2010 Shelby's, 2013 Boss 302, 1965 GT350, 66 GT350H, 67/68 GT 350/GT500...even a 1/25 diecast 2014 GT kit in silver w/blue stripes and Brembo brake wheels.

Very cool Tom. I have a small collection of 1/12 motogp motorcycles from the UK. All metal with removable fairings to expose engines, chain, suspension etc. They came mostly pre-assembled. Nothing like the work i'm sure you put into them.
