Agreed, when I did do side detailing jobs, if there was light correction, it was $400 (granted this also meant correction, one coat of glaze, two coats of sealant, and two coats of wax, along with the wheels getting 2x sealant and all the tires/trim getting dressing etc. and the glass getting cleaned). It also took two days, which makes me really sketchy of these detailing places that claim to go all out on your car for like $150 and have it back to you in 4 hours…that's impossible.

HA HA Thanks guys.
The meet was this morning. Those photos of just my car were from last night.
Here are some from today. About half the cars there. I guess not so "mini" meet after all?! LOL

Answer is all depends on time spent on it. A proper correction can take 4 hours to up to 12 or more. Multiply that by the hourly rate of say, 30 or 40 bucks... And that's the charge. My clients average about 6 hours or so, esp if they do the claying (I hate claying).

I used to use pinnacle clay. Sonax clay was another one I liked. Lately though, I've been using clay pads from chem guys. You ever try those? Faster than regular clay plus no kneading. They seem to not last as long though.

I like the Chemical Guys clay bar. Since I started the week I bought my car, I have been using the light duty clay bar. Ever since I saw Z use Chem guys, I tried them and became hooked. I even used their All Clean and Silk Shine to make my engine car show pretty. So I blame Z for getting me so addicted

Btw, you guys know what I mean when I state Clay PAD vs Clay BAR, right?
Clay BAR is the normal traditional clay (ala Play Dough) that you knead after every area you clay... it's tedious because of the limited amount of grip (you can only use fingers) to hold the clay in place. Also repeated swipes to remove one spot gets old.
Clay PAD is the revolutionary product that is some clay/rubber/alien??? material attached to one end of a foam pad. Benefit? No kneading. Better grip for more leverage. Less swiping. However, I did notice some loss of effectiveness after 1 or 2 car's worth of use. Meaning, more swipes are needed to remove the contaminant.
Pro's Con's for each.

^ that is correct Darren. I think each clay pad is about 15 to 20 bucks, which is the normal price of 2 clay bars. So yes, small price to pay to keep my sanity with claying.
p.s. try using a sealant spray (like CG V7, etc) as lube. That was your sealing the same time you clay win/win.
