I'm a bit sad at the 1/4 mile time. I wanted it to be able to beat the toyota tundra which gets high 14 sec times.

yeah but the frame rails rust so fast that the truck will break in two before the end of the run.

Thats true on a normal pickup, but the Raptor is supposed to be a performance truck, I know its made for offroading, but i think it should have acceleration too.

I know that a tune and cams put the Raptor XT at 500 hp at the crank. Ford is planning to sell those FRPP cams in the future, but first we need our trucks.

Just like the 4.6 3V, the horsepower is there to be had. Still waiting on official word on what rods were used.

OK, but performance at Baja is different than an asphalt 1/4. I'd want my Raptor to a) finish and b) win the long haul. I wouldn't care about who beat me off the line in the dirt.

Try taking a tundra off- road in hardcore conditions, see what happens to it.

You can buy one (Raptor) off the showroom floor and do this...

I'd hate to see what would remain of its C-channel frame.

I'm also curious to see what would happen if one were to replace the Raptor's rolling stock with something comparable in size to the Tundra's. I'd imagine the Raptor's huge, heavy tires have to be slowing the truck down somewhat in that 1/4 mile pass.

Nope. Not yet. They have a stock order one at my dealer but its loaded and I don't want a sun roof anymore or need a nav system. Plus its black and I've got enough black cars.

Mine is supposed to be made Monday. Then if transportation goes as planned I should have it by May 10th they say. Which I am definitely looking forward to.

Congrats on ordering your 5.0 Jason

Here's a guy that dynoed his 5.4L baseline. Looks to be about 100 hp less at the wheels. Of course its not the same dyno though, so FWIW.
