I love the Lightnings. But not the ones form the 90s. Yeah they should bring out a new Lightning they would look awesome with this body style

Lightnings are like Termis and Notches. Everyone I've ever seen has been raced and beaten to hell.

Yeah there's some nice ones out there, but most are obtainable and used and abused.

I agree Gary there are very few that have been taken care of. That is a shame that they didnt take care of them.

I'm not discounting that the Lightning looked badass. I'm in agreement there. My point being that I just don't see the point of a high-performance pickup truck.

Some people would argue why are there high performance FWDs. To me, it's just another niche to fill

Well to its credit the Lighting Gen 1 and Gen 2 could actually be used to tow "stuff" as well as go fast. Unlike the Ram SRT 10 that had no tow rating if memory serves. Always nice to have options . . . .

Isn't this truck based on Ford's "old" F150 (04-08 MY)?

I noticed that too, they echoed the design of the regular GT500 hood in the bed cover.

Speaking on Lightning, Ford did plan to build a 3rd generation Lightning.

Too bad it never moved from concept stage.

I believe this concept did feature 5.4L supercharger V8 engine with ~450 hp.
