Then your options are pretty much wide open. Just depends on how much work you want to put into it.

I would go with a 4.6 4v or even a 5.4.

I want a V8 for sure. What would be my best "bang for your buck" as in most horsepower for best price?

A 4.6 4v. Right around 300 hp. Remeber though, you need to do all the supporting mods in the drivetrain as well

Going to go for engine swap. I would go up to the 4.6L but I don't think it has the power that I want. Any crate motor or other engine options you guys would recommend?
5.0 4v, go big.

Seriously. I have a lot of experience working on engines but never did any suspension work, and worry about a spring slipping and going through the wall (or worse my chest). I once used spring compressors, and that was nightmare. Can anyone point me to a video of how to swap out struts, shocks and springs?

any local garage will swap out the springs on the cheap. That is if you just bring in the parts. If your going to drop it 2 inches you will need a bump steer kit also.
