3 inch Lowering

Hey what are you guy's thoughts on lowering SN95's? I'm thinking about doing it but I just don't know.

If you do you will need caster camber plates or your car will not be able to be aligned properly depending on how low you go

3 inches and you'll be dragging the ground. 1.75 is as low as I'd go. That's where I'm at, and I'm scraping speed bumps and driveway transitions on a regular basis.

Yeah, I think mine is around 1.5" to 2" lowered, speed bumps are a definite no no. I'd like to make it lower, but then there's no way I could get in my driveway.

I'm not going to get it lowered, after you guys's inputs and some research it's not worth it, I spent my money on some new dual exhaust.

Its completely worth it. When coupled with new shocks and struts the car will ride, handle and look a lot better.

I agree, it's totally worth it. Just don't lower it 3"

The normal lowering is 1.75, I've seen a 1.75 drop and the car had 18s on it and it had a better look. Maybe consider that?

3 inches is way to much. I am lowered 2 inches all the way around with H&r super sports and I have to watch out for clearance everywhere.

Is 500$ too much to have it lowered 2 inches all the way around?

Yep. $250 for the springs should be all.

That sounds about right without labor. Your probably gonna want shocks/struts when you get springs. If you don't, ride quality will suffer, handling will suffer, and eventually your gonna need to get new shocks/struts because you currents ones life span will be greatly decreased.

Sounds good, the guy told me 500$ for springs and labor! I still don't know if I want to do it though.

NO! Buy your own springs, get new shocks and struts and do the labor yourself. You will need new shocks and struts. You will regret not doing it..

A couple years ago, I was quoted 1100 for labor to do shocks and springs. Now I know that's somewhat high, but just to give some perspective. It sounds to me like the guy is either buying some really crappy/cheap springs, or more likely cutting your stockers.

I wouldn't go for that. Install is pretty easy and straight forward as long as you know how to turn a ratchet.

Thanks everybody for your inputs! I'm not
Going to do it right now, maybe later. I'm
Going to go for engine swap. I would go up to the 4.6L but I don't think it has the power that I want. Any crate motor or other engine options you guys would recommend?

First question, do you live in a inspection/smog state?
