I know we've talked about before, but a cage would not be awful. Just a nice 4-point from MM with a crossbar for your harnesses. The bad part about harnesses, is that in the event of a rollover it can compress your spine and do tremendous damage, where a standard belt lets you slide out of the way of the roof. Since you're not using your rear seats anyway, a 300 dollar investment in your life, a 45 dollar investment in a drive down to Slo With one of your top two Pete's to pick it up, and a few hours for install, would be well spent.

 

i dunno where that $300 is coming from on my end unfortunately. Also i think the car will be sitting until my spring break, when i can actually work on it without any worry of not doing my hw. my break starts on march 21 and ends on the 27th.

plus i have a feeling i'll be using the II more than this car once they are both operational lol

Theres a silver lining in everything! Think of a new front bumper, maybe a termi one, new tires with fresh tread, a couple new suspension bits, and an excuse to get a repaint! Another coat of fresh highland green would do nicely(:

Well since im home for spring break i finally got off my lazy *** and got to fixin the ol gal.

Went to kragen, picked up a new inner tie rod for $40. i installed it (only took about an hour or so) but i need to go back to kragen to get a new cotter pin and some hose clamps for the steering rack boots. after that, over to firestone to get an alignment and she'll be roadworthy

however, she still needs to have two tires remounted. I'm not entirely sure, but we might just replace all four tires soon, seeing as traction was the issue in the first place.

after i have some lunch i'm gonna go get those hose clamps/pin and then start working on figuring how i'm going to reattach this bumper. after that the interior is going to need a VERY thorough going over. If jills mandate that i wash my car for every time i go partying is taken to be scientific fact, then the amount of work its going to take to get her back is definitely in line with 2 months worth of partying

but hey, progress right?

you're more than welcome to stop by, though i might be done as early as tomorrow. all thats left is zip tying the bumper on and shop related things for the tires/alignment

i also finally bought some air filter cleaner for the CAI. its never been cleaned and man it shows :P its drying at the moment. it says to let it dry thoroughly, so i'm gonna let it go overnight

 

Wow, getting stuff done for two cars at the same time? IMO, replace all 4 tires - might as well do that for added peace of mind.

more news..

car is basically fixed, got the new tires on it, and i even replaced the battery because the old one died while it was sitting

but theres still an issue.. now it wont start. It cranks and turns over, but it just wil not run. brand new battery.. and I don't think its crash damage relatetd because even right when i crashed it, i was able to start the motor up no problem. i actually had to use the gas a little to get the car out of the mess it was in. anyone have any ideas? this is confusing as *****..

 

The gas would be the first thing i'd check. It may have gone bad

 

turn your key to the on position and listen for your fuel pump. The inertia switch might of tripped.

 

i thoguht about that.. i took a look at the switch, because i dont hear the fuel puump running, but i was unable to press it. how hard is that button supposed to be because i wasnt able to get it to budge


also, immediately after the accident, when the car was still in a ditch, i was able to start the car no problems. would it help if i disconnected the switch and then reconnected it?
