For those interested, Polk/Momo makes some nice 8" speaker grilles that fit very nicely on the doors for those with the Shaker radios. I have them and going to paint them the same silver as the switchplates.

how did you know they would fit? also they look like they're already silver. I was thinking about getting Steeda ones but they are $160.00.

I didn't know they would fit, but just like they way they looked. Crutchfield has an easy return policy, so I got them and they fit very nicely. They are already silver, but I don't want the Polk/Momo label and I'd prefer they match the IUP a little better. They are close. However, I still plan to paint them like the switchplates.

The Steeda ones are nice as well. I don't like how Steeda puts huge logos on most items. However, their grilles are metal and the Polk are plastic. Also, the Polk Grilles replace the stock grilles whereas the Steeda just covers it. I plan on replacing the speakers as well.

They aren't my car, but I've attached some pics for those interested.

I think the speaker is just asking to be painted. Did anyone notice that the speaker circumference design is the same as the rear badge design? Something can be done with that. Anyone know how much Ford would sell the speaker cover? (Just in case).

Someones already painted them.just can't remember. I'm sure they'll be at least75 a pair.just a guess. I like the Steeda "s" symbol. sorta reminds me of Superman. We need to find a member with a machine shop and give them design ideas!!

I saw one painted in post #6 here:
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=48653

Looks pretty good.

I saw the Steeda speaker covers. You're right, looks like Superman symbol. Anyone have a machine shop out there?

I found a local dealer of interior accessories, also manufactures stuff. Next time I'm there, I'll ask what can be done.

I lightly sanded with #600 paper, cleaned and then gave them a good even coat, waited about 20 minutes, and another coat. all together about 4 coats.i wanted to make sure the paint didnt chip off easily! This spray paint dries very fast.

After many weeks of painting, thinking, painting again, thinking again, re-painting - aggggggghhhh

This is what I ended up with. Paint the pieces using the silver, and using decals from bobwhite
