Ordered a Pioneer AVIC-U310BT for Christmas!
I've wanted an in-dash nav for about 4 years now and finally pulled the trigger. It is a Christmas present so it'll have to sit until then but I'm stoked that I'll finally be able to upgrade from the Shaker 500. Passed 100k last week so I'll consider it my car's 100k mile gift as well!

Unit arrived. Looks nice for such a basic unit. I'll spring for the combo map and POI update. Can't wait to be able to do BT through the stereo, be able to make use of my iTunes via iPod or iPhone, and have the Nav for the, admittedly rare, times my wife and I have an overnight date night somewhere.

Well, got it installed tonight but have no subwoofers. I wired the 2 white/blue wires from the rca harness to the blue wire coming out of the pioneer harness. Also changed my settings to sub out rather than rear. Trying to figure it out now.....

Ok, took the stereo out and rewired in yet another resistor as per Taco Bill's instructions. Pretty sure the other was wired correctly too but just in case.... Everything looks correct to me . I've gone through all of the audio settings for the unit and believe I have everything configured correctly but am beginning to think I must not since the wiring all looks correct. I took some pics with my phone of the wiring that I'll post when I get back from taking the kids to spend some Christmas money.

Got it working! It's what I get for following other people's pictures over what I was reading in the manual. Now I need to start seeing what my options are for replacing the Shaker subs and amp!

Have you gotten it working ok now? I just got the same head unit and it'll get here on Monday. Hoping to see what issues I may need to pay close attention to before I try to install. Thanks!

Also, FWIW I soldered all connections rather than using clips. Not sure it was necessary but it's worked well for me.
Good luck!

Thanks. UPS tracking says it'll be here by the end of the day on Monday. I'll probably get to it next Friday.
Which wiring harness and install kit did you use? Other than those two things and the voltage regulator that is needed for the shaker500 system, are there any other items that I may need?
Also, I read somewhere that you can't program the navigation while the car is moving unless you do a bypass mod. Did you do that on your installation?

I believe the harness I got was this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Metra-70-5521-...5668481&sr=8-5
The dash kit was this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-FD1426...5668548&sr=1-1
I used the resistor method of eliminating the pop if you have the shaker 500. Check out Taco Bill's thread if you want more info.

I believe if you buy the updated maps/poi's, which I have yet to do, it upgrades the software which will prevent you from doing certain functions over about 5mph. I haven't really tested the functionality of the NAV yet since I generally drive alone and only back and forth to work. Currently, the bypass does work for me and I just clipped the ground from the radio to the ground of the stereo.

Yeah, Prime rocks! Be sure to take a look at the resistor method. It's a more straight forward approach than the voltage regulator.
