looking at adding XM radio to the reciever.

1 Metra Axxess XIA-DO1
1 Ford Harness
1 XM Radio Harness
1 XM Reciever.

Is it pretty easy to hook up? Never really did this before.

Not hard at all. Just do some research on how everything comes apart. The hard part is figuring out were to mount the XM receiver. I velcroed mine to the passenger side inside the center stack next to the radio, lots of room.

Good luck!

Thanks. I will mount mine there as well. No need to get to it after installed.

mount it under the cowl vent. perfect reception, and it's out of sight.

Well, got it installed and it works great! Installed the antenna on the rear deck under the cardboard. Can't see it and great reception. Best part is that I went through the trunk and there is a small opening that you can slide the antenna through, don't need to rip the rear panel apart. Unless of course you are changing your speakers too. But it was pretty easy to do and well worth the money. Also the Aux Line In that is in the center consol still works as well. So you can still plug an Ipod in there too!

Could you give more detail on how you mount under cowl? Do you go thru from inside where head unit is located?

take the antenna itself and go to the cowl. on my car I could pull gently up on the top part of the cowl and it gave me enough room to slide it down in there, should be the same on yours. i positioned it so it was on the metal...then i ran the wire all the way to the passenger side...slipped the plug in through the door hinge, then down the side of the trim and tucked it all underneath, into the car under the interior trim up to where the carpet meets the firewall, and then tucked the excess wire in there and plugged into the unit.

i get perfect reception in there, and no one even knows I have it. Completely stealth and car show friendly! no more worrying about taking it on and off before car shows, or worrying what the stupid judge will think.
