Interior Door Handles Now Sold Separately
Interior Door Handles Now Sold Separately
For those of us wanting to change the interior door handles without purchasing the complete door panel, the interior door handles are now available separately. I replaced my IUP door handles with GT 500 door handles. Procedure is very easy - took about 45 minutes for both sides including removing the door panels.
I was under the impression these were same as the Edge and Fusion as well. Stock handles are black and these are silver/satin finish. New handles are chrome if I recall correctly? I have SHR handles here, no issues since I swapped either.
Was it easy to take the door panels off? I've wanted to do this for a while now. What did the door handles run you?
EDIT:
I just looked at the PDF you had attached, it looks as though the door panel is attached with screws all the way around. Were there any of the dreaded interior clips holding the panel on?
Also, what are you doing with your IUP handles? Any interest in selling them?

I'm still not clear on what the difference is between the door handles. I have an 06 GT with IUP and my handles are satin. Were yours satin or black? If satin, what's the differnce between those and the GT500 handles?
Hmph. You learn something new everyday! I didn't know that. Now that I look at the pictures above, I think I see what he's talking about. IUP is a "satin" finish (sorta painted or anodized look) while the GT500 is a "polished" finish (polished aluminum with clear coat). My guess is these wouldn't be unlike the two finished of the same name that silverhorseracing offer on their interior parts.
