Good luck with the install....perhaps you could post some "as you go along" pics. I did not take any myself. Feel free to give a call if you hit any road blocks. delz05

If he has the time....maybe we can entice him to do this himself??!!

Hello Bill.......??

One last point of interest, a second set of hands makes the work go much faster. I began this on my own, (passenger side first) but had my sons helping with the drivers side. (Showing them "How To") Took less than half the time to complete. Good luck!

Well I did the install. It was literally a pain in the back. Took me a few hours to do. Both seats are operational. However the driver side seat warms up very quickly, but the passenger seat literally takes 5+min to warm up, while the drivers side is toasty. I noticed that the passenger seat heats up quicker each time. I will be heat cycling it for the next 2 or three days. Hopefully it improves.

Unfortunately I could not take pics as my cam bit the dust. Sucks as I have to get a new cam soon.

I have noticed the same, the more they are used, the quicker the warm, and the warmer they feel! Great therapy for that "pain in the back"!

Has anyone managed to retrofit the OEM Ford heated seats to an 05 or 06 Mustang? The wiring diagrams posted by KC >here< suggest that there is a heated seat relay box. Does anyone know if that is part of the replacement a/c control module (with the heated seat buttons) or is that a separate item?

The wiring looms in the car are different for 05/06 Mustangs, but assuming the relay box is within the a/c control module, presumably it's just a case of wiring up the correct pin in the seat wiring harness to the module (as I imagine that the module is already wired correctly for power from the bussed electrical center)?

Well the ups and downs of the factory parts are as follows

Pros: OEM

Cons: Stays on for 10min, only one setting, wiring nightmare as you will have to pull 1/2 the car apart to fit the correct harnes.

The kit wed have has two settings and will stay on as long as wel like. on the low setting in the cold it basically stays on for the duration of the ride.

I havent seen anyone retrofit an oem kit. Probably have to buy whole seats for that.

A good after market shop can do a good job on heated seats.

Time to resurrect this thread.

The Owner's Manual has this information about the auxiliary heated seat relay box:

Auxiliary relay
On heated seat equipped vehicles, there is a relay box located behind the
headlamp switch area containing two micro relays for the driver and
passenger heated seats.

The fuse for the OEM heated seats is fuse 66 - a 25A fuse.

So for those 2007+ cars that are not fitted with OEM heated seats from the factory, it appears that the wiring loom is pre-wired for the heated seats. Does anyone know if the relay box is also there, or only fitted if heated seats are ordered?

I can look and see if my 2007 has that in the location you are talking about. I did pick up the new AC control switch with the heated seats button. When I push them they light up but I haven't checked if they go off after 10 minutes.

I even bought two position switches to fit in the blanks where the heated seat buttons would have been. Do you want to sell your non heated seat assembly? I may buy it and see if I can cut it up. I am afraid there is a bcb in the back that probably wont allow me to do what I want. Al least this way I can experiment with it. LMK if your selling your old one.

Sorry I sold it a while back. If you want the ones with buttons; I got mine on ebay for only $34 + shipping. It came with the radio surround.
