** GROUP BUY: Gentex Interior Mirrors
Does anyone have a picture of the different harnesses? I have no idea which one came with my kit since I did not buy it from the group buy ... but it came with two different covers .. one extendable and one solid so I assume it was the G harness .. G standing for Gentex.
My understanding is the M harness may already have the Temp Sensor wired into the connector for the back of the mirror. The Harness I got had the temp sensor seperate and I had to clip the two metal prongs into the appropriate holes in the connector after I installed the sensor harness.

dmhines - Your understanding about the M harness is correct. If anyone did not mind how the wires from the OEM mirror looked then you will not have a problem with the M harness without a wire cover because it is exactly the same.
Where did you get your Gentex mirror from, it doesn't look like the ones pictures and it looks more like my factory mirror with just the compass. Also do you know what model number it is. Thanks

UPDATE
So I just got done with a long conversation with Howard (our guy at AutoDax). He has informed me that their distribution center screwed up. Instead of sending M harnesses to all of us they sent G harnesses. Both work and are very similar, but from what he tells me the M harness combines the two wires coming from the mirror to the headliner into one big wire.
Howard feels horrible and wants to make it right. He has offered the following options. 1) he will ship out free to everyone the plastic wire cover to cover the two wires to clean up the look. This will match the OEM mirror with compass as some have already indicated they want. 2) he will ship you an M harness upgrade as originally ordered.
As for me I already have the mirror installed and operational so I'm not gutting it to reinstall the M harness again. I chose option 1 and will just install the plastic cover when it gets here. Plus, that looks more OEM anyway and thats what I'm shooting for.
Please communicate directly with Howard to let him know your choice (if any). Guys I apologize for this mistake but I'm just the messenger. Please call or email Howard and explain you are in our group buy and need reparations!!!!

Yea I got an email today from Howard stating he was sending the cover, which is cool. Just wish i didnt buy one from another site yesterday

I'm impatient sometimes!
Canceled my Order Monday.
REASONS:Possible Broken Windshield problem, Wiring problem(cover?) and
Shipping UPS to Canada, $23 plus UPS Outrageous Brokerage Fee ($35),
No indication of Group buy Price reduction on Credit Card.
USPS service to Canada comes across the Border with no added Charges.
This was a Nice to Have Item that had too many Problems.

Let me just say that the item itself doesnt have any problems, I love mine!
True there was a mistake with the cover for the wiring which is being taken care of at no additional charge. I've heard horror stories with getting the OEM mirror off & at 1 point I was just going to take it to a pro but I did manage to get it off. Your issue with the shipping...i understand, thats ups. The only real issue I had was getting that OEM mirror off and I blame Ford for that, just a poor design.

Okay guys I am almost done with my install but I found out I bought the large size "add a fuse" and that fuse block in the kick panel needs the smaller size. No big deal I will pick up the smaller one tomorrow after work. But what size fuse are you guys putting in for the mirror. I can't find out what size fuse I should use.

Thanks. I got mine up and running last night but I used a 2 amp fuse because I wanted to be on the safe side. I also bought a pack of 5 amp fuses in case the 2 amp wasn't heavy enough. I seems to work fine on the 2 amp so far.

Bill , where did you get the home link and how was the install. I got the mirror without the home link and afterwards I wish I had gotten it. This is a better alternative than getting another mirror ...
Looks like he bought a $30 sunvisor from eBay (there are a ton of them out there) ... cut out the homelink electronics and mounted it in the dome light housing. Pretty ingenious ...
