Factory NAV From KC Has Arrived!!!
Got home from work today, UPS box was waiting on my porch. A very BIG box. And inside was my NAV system!
I think that I now have the only 2005 'Stang with a NAV!
Also, am I the only one with a Shaker 1000 NAV?
Looks like tomorrow's the big day, I'm going to install this puppy and see what happens. Thanks to KC for getting me the goods!!!
Here are the pix: #1 is what you get for your $$$, the NAV unit, instruction manual, leaflet, and software DVD. Note that there are no installation instructions included! Photo #2 shows the plugs in the back of the unit. I didn't see a 1/8" AUX adapter, guess that is going to be a challenge to retrofit in the future.
This oughtta be interesting.

well the new nav 07 system has an aux jack hard wired to it to the center console I believe. So its going to be a wiring harness to hook it up. I wonder if ford has gotten around to selling this wiring yet. I would like to add one in my console as well.

Did you get an antenna also? That would be the harder thing to install, I would think, since it mounts up under the dash, I believe. But I've been wrong before. I'm interested in doing this upgrade to my '07 sometime too, just don't know if I want to spend that much yet.

I don't think it will be too hard to install...

I'm interested in how this will go... subscribing.
Not that anyone will see, but why do the people at the factory have to go and scribble on the deck with a blue sharpie?

Yea definatly do a good writeup. I'm basing my decision off your experience with the sound quality and how hard it is to mount the antenna under dash etc. No pressure

Congrats!
any idea who makes the navigation module for that unit?
i'd love to figure out whether i could load up the maps for Dubai, whether they're available, or whether i should just stick to my Garmin StreetPilot :S
EDIT: wow, i just noticed that little sticker saying Pioneer AVIC.. i guess no luck for me then (no maps)
