I am confused by what he told you also. The satin nickle for the upper and lower consoles and door switch facias are a match to the steering wheel (at least that is what I received). A brushed effect but no lines as on the IUP only the dash has the horizontal lines.

Considering everything Ford had to work through, I think they did a great job with the '05.
I agree - what folks don't seem to take into account is the constant "budget battle" that the beancounters force on the design teams and the fact that Ford kept this vehicle under 30K. After owning a 95 vert, 2000 GT vert and now the '05 - I can honestly say (IMHO anyway) that this is probably the most well balanced, best handling, tighest build Mustang ever (for line production Stangs anyway).

Having said that - I would gladly pay additional $$'s for more refinement such as a glove box light, better quality carpeting, better quality interior door panels, 100% leather on the seats - not just seating surfaces, electric tilt and telescopic steering wheel, underhood hydralic supports and engine bay light, additional sound proofing - especially in the floor and firewall areas, 18" wheel options, etc - but I understand that Ford needs to keep this car affordable for the primary market - younger buyers. With these considerations in mind I think Ford did a good job on the new stang.

im still so confused by everyone flip flopping their responses. Which is the finish that matches the IUP color. i dont care about the lines through it, just the color. is it the satin nickle or the brushed stainless?

Email them asking if you could get a piece sample of both material.... I too asked one of the administrators of Woodview which was the perfect match of the IUP and they told me that they'd mail me both material samples so I could decide myself.

Hope this helps.

Got my IUP pieces from Woodview today and they look great! They are a VERY close match to the steering wheel/door handle look and look great in that all black interior. I installed the center stack "outline" piece (not including the radio cover or the two small pieces between the A/C controls) and the window switch covers. Looks EXCELLENT and I'm now going to order the headlight switch and console pieces....really goes nice in the dark charcoal leather interior - covers up some of the cheap looking plastic parts.

FYI - I did call Woodview direct (using the number at the beginning of this post) and they were more than happy to take my order for any pieces that I wanted......

Well worth it (IMHO)

Dave - although the Woodview sales rep didn't call it Satin Nickle - I'm assuming that's what it is because they match the steering wheel finish/door handles - so it must be. I checked the invoice and the name of the finish was not included but it is listed as Material Type 26.

Well just spoke with Michelle at Woodview and it turns out the 1st guy whom I ordered from didn't tell me the correct story. They actually make two "alum" finishes for the '05 Stangs 1) Satin Nickle and 2) Double Brush. He had told me there was only one finish (double brush) so that's what I got - and why I was confused as to why eveyone else was calling it the Satin Nickle finish. Anyway, Michelle told me the double brush was the newer of the two finishes and that most people prefer and are now ordering the double brush.....

It does look good and appear to match - so I'm happy with it - although I would like to see the Satin Nickle up close sometime.

D2Toys

They told me a similar story, and broke down the parts for me, they also told me if i had no luck or a problem with the dealers, they would sell to me direct!!!
I will call them back and try to deal with them direct.

Well I called them and I have bought the inserts to surround the stereo, shifter, & counsel. Parts numbers 11,12,13,14,& 15; Cost: 80 dollars plus shipping.

They have to make the parts and will ship 1/17/05. I chose English Burlwood.

Does anyone know where you can get the brushed alluminum for the steering wheel??? What do you do if you want to turn a non-IUP steering wheel into an IUP one???
