For all you non-IUP owners, they have this kit in paintable ABS finish too, which will allow you to make your own custom "IUP strip" across the dash in the color of your car (or every other color imaginable). That might be pretty darn cool too.

Brushed stainless at lower and upper consoles and around window buttons on doors. EDIT: May be satin nickle, see (5) post #2

I ordered my car on 10/20 with IUP. I was looking at the site listed in this thread and I like the look of the wood dash kits.
Since my car will have the IUP trim from the factory would it be possible to change the silver trim and install wood trim, and if so how much work would be involved to make the change?

I know some people wonder why I chose the IUP if I wanted wood, and the reason is My Color, gauges and the message center which you have to get the IUP package to get those things.

Just a suggestion, when you pick up your new pony, meander over to the body shop manager and pose the problem. My guess is the trim is just glued on, but the body shop might suggest a painless way to remove without causing damages.

Look at Kahdir's post (#6) and pick out the pieces you want from the schematic. E-mail Woodview for prices. I purchased the whole set ($225) and took out the pieces I wanted. Flight 96's first post was to tell everyone that the pieces can be purchased individually, much cheaper.

The chrome shift **** is a little more difficult. I found the one I wanted at Abtivan Concepts (on the web), but it had a 3/8" receiver hole and the Mustang uses a 1/2" male. I drilled out the ball to 29/64" and tapped in 1/2" threads. I used LOCKTITE when installing the new ****.
I wouldn't have gone to the trouble if I could have found the **** I wanted in a 1/2" receiver. To me, the size and weight were important, maybe not to anybody else!

I'm wondering if I do order some of these parts.... mainly the parts that cover what the IUP usually covers (dashboard, etc)... if it'd look like an exact replica of the IUP... cause i'd hate to have something that looks totally generic compared to the IUP.

Paul ~ Did you get the stainless billett finish or the Satin Nickel? Because it looks like the Satin would be brighter & therefore closer to the IUP finish. Also have you replace the door lock pins yet to match the metal?

Thanks.

Stainless billett is what I have and it's so close to the steering wheel spokes and door handles that I wouldn't be able to tell it's not factory installed. Personally, I have not had any interest in the lock pins. Prolly cause I am concerned about over doing things. In my case, I am already starting with a two tone interior set off with the metal. With an all black interior, you might not have to be as concerned. It's surely a personal thing.

Go to the woodview site, select the 05 Mustang and then select the "Dashtek" line, all models. It will show all kinds of rice finishes, like colored carbon fibre etc, and also the unpainted abs plastic.

I just looked up my order from SS Inserts and I ordered the stainless, their number was 05XB-MUSTG-SN and it matches the IUP exactly. As far as price, maybe one finish varies a little from the other, I don't know.
Possibly they have more stock on some parts? Explain to them you have pictures you're going be, why are they suggesting Nickle and wil they accept returns if it doesn't match.

Wild.... any idea on how the dashboard parts (that usually the IUP covers) look like? Would you say they look like an exact replica of the IUP?
