I think you are confusing them with the 69 mach one twist locks which are larger, 3" I think. The 68 KR and CS cars twist loks are 2" diameter and exactly the same as shown on the prototype KR in Tulsa last year. I held them side by side for comparison and one of the Shelby folks near the car said something to the effect of "yep, thats the same ones" I wanted to look under the hood then but they would not let me.
Also the larger Mach One locks are chrome, the 68 KR locks are satin finish.

The ones on that page for the 68 Shelby are what I bought and what are being used on the KR. I don't know what bracket arangement Shelby is using on the radiator core support as the latch pin falls about 1.5 or so forward of the adjustable rubber bumper, near the front edge of the core support. I would imagine they fabbed a bracket to fit there and bolted to the core support. We are using the 68 bracket and fabing something to fit.
I read on the Shelby forums that the hood pins on the prototype KR were just stuck in place thats why when you turned them they just kept turning and not catching on anything.
I just left the paint & body shop. My hood is painted, fenders blended, and the hood is on the car. They basically finished up late today, but wanted to keep it til tomorrow to tweak the fit a little and to go over it very carefully to make sure it is to their (and my) liking. I should have it tomorrow. I'll replace th custom pony fender emblems, relocate my washer nozzles and get some pics posted.
i bought this hood.and the thing is awesome. the ram air vents are screw in but the louvers on the top of the hood can come off but is not functional. also has cutouts for the windshield washer nozzles and it also comes with new nozzles. the fittment is great also. check it out.

The pic on the website would look better if that Mustang had a GT500 front bumper, grill, and headlights. Are they the company actually making this hood, or are they just a retailer?

That hood is made for the GT/V6 bumper, not the GT500.
Also, that pic is pretty bad. There are some other pictures floating around and you can see that it lines up better.
It's a valiant attempt and an option for the GT/V6 bumper guys. I am not thrilled about the front vents though.

Man that looks amazing, your guys dona an awsome job Rob.
That hood compliments your fine car no end, the stripes look phenomenal as well.
How much for your paint job all in all?
Out of interest, what was the fitting like with the Trifuber?
Mine is in the body shop right now, I have the Shelby Super Snake hood and even though I payed $300 more for the prepped version, they still needed to shave down some edges underneath at the front for a good fit.

Looks great! Yours is the first I have seen with the stripes running through the louvers. Mine will be that way and I LIKE IT.
Really wish my body guy would get on the ball. Taking way too long. I know I am doing some custom mods to the hood but.....

looks great Rob.. i'm glad you finally have her back..
enjoy being a show stopper
i'm having mixed feelings about the stripes running through the louvers..
either that or i'm just trying to justify all the extra work i had to do to make mine fit
