Brad: This information is incorrect and does not apply to the spinners available on the 2005 Mustang V-6 wheels:

Do a search on yahoo for spinners or Spreewell's as there's sometimes called, it's basically a rim with a row of ball bearings lining the sides, and another smaller rim sitting on the bearings, so you have two rims spinning at different speeds, and when you come to a stop, the momentum keeps the inside rim spinning, even tho you're not moving, hopefully that makes sense, or watch any MTV/BET music video from any rap or hip hop artist and i guarantee you'll see at least one example

sometimes i can refrain from bein the smarthiney (im really mad it edited that, lol) since BlackRiderX beat me to it

And what does it do?
Lies around and detracts from the beauty..Not a true spinner, but a spinner just the same.
Im hoping the 17' heritage will be an option in 05.Thats my favorite.

Get some aftermarket chrome 18" wheels on it and new mufflers, and it will stand out. Stripe kits peel off.
Your choice, but I think a nice set of 18's would do the car more justice than stripes. [/b][/quote]
that's exactly what I said?

Stripes are awesome if they are done correctly, and can look horrible and out of place if they are done incorrectly. I guess you can say the same thing about rims except it's cheaper to correct ugly rims than a bad paint job ....

No!

Spinners were the racing wheel of the 60's. Instead of lug nuts they had a "nut" that held the wheel on the hub. Look at the GT-R for a modern example. It had spines to help tighten/loosen. It was popular to have fake spinners that were caps to cover the hub in the middle of the wheel. The '05 V6 has the fake halibrands with fake spinners. Just decoration derived from an actual racing application.

Sorry, referencing was a bit wrong.

I was referencing your post and agreeing with you. I wasn't refering to you with the "Your". Though it doesn't sound like that...Ooops. :bang:

Spinners are just what Crazyhorse said, the were also known as Knock Off Hubs too, as the means of remoing the wheel required you to Remove a cotter pin and then using a rubber mallet, you knocked them on the outer wings to loosen them and then they would spin on off! Alot of cars from the 60's Had "Spinner Hubcaps" B) My Mom had a set of factory Wire Hubcaps, with Spinners on her 63 Chevy Impala, and someone stole them off her car because they were the Cool things to have on your car.

As for the Hood Pins, I wouldn't go with Pins, :nono: but a set of nice Twist Type Lockdowns, like a 71-73 Mach 1 had would be kinda sweet!
