Hello all, I have been lurking here for some time. Starting to get excited with all the new info released lately. With all the dealer connections people seem to have, has anyone mentioned when the 18" rims might be offered? Last I heard it was "late availability". Did they mean late in 2004, or the 2005 model year (up to next fall)?

Also, thanks for this great site Brad! My wife thinks I am addicted to it!

At the earliest, late 2005s, around the time of the convertible release, at latest with the 2006 model year I believe.

Yay! A smart new person who didn't just ask "When can we get the 18s" but instead "Any updates yet?". The perfect way to bring up an old topic without sounding dumb. Good job.

No sarcasm meant there. Seriously.

Doh! That would be the only thing holding me back. I do like the bullits, however with the higher profile, they look a bit skinny to me. Oh well...

I beleive the convertible is supposed to be available in spring 2005.

I'm sure Kotzenjunge meant "late 2005s" - note the s - to mean late 2005 model year. The model year ends long before the calendar year. They stopped making the 04 mustangs just a bit ago and it's only May, so late model year 2005 would be early to mid calendar year 2005. Hence it being "around the time of the convertible release".

I attended a presentation given by the chief suspension engineer for the new Mustang, and he stated that the 18" tires and wheels will be available about a year after the cars introduction.

I also spoke with the Performance Manager of a local Ford dealer and President of a large Sourthern California based Mustang club, and he stated that the 18" tires will be available at job 2 (which I'm assuming is next spring), or next model year.
