Sequential tailights/splice kit

Who here has done the less expensive splice kit for the sequential tailights? How does it work...are you happy with it? Thanks in advance

Or get the Silverhorse Racing set

Just install their plug-n-play set on an '06

The kits are different, so make sure you get the right
one for your year model ('05 - nov '05)(nov '05 and up)

Ford changed the wiring harness during nov '05

Check out their website for the details.

I also recommend just getting the PNP kit. Time is money, and this is just too easy. Also, you can easily pull it if you wanted to. You don't have to return the old harness if you don't want to..

I did the 07 kit which where you have to replace the inner socket. But I forgot to do last step and only two outer lights work. I after undoing and redoing all the wiring, I noticed that I forgot step E. After tapped into the right wire wallah all works. Just follow all steps and cover bumper cover very well or you will scratch the thin clear coat taking lights in and out.

My kit was is from web electric - bascially factory harness replacement - very easy. I did opt to run a wire from the passenger side junction box to the rear to stop the brake lights from sequencing once. (you get one sequence before they stay on solid without this extra work). - Well that's with this kit anyway. I did it myself and started no fires.

Like others said here it's one of the easier mods to do - I'd go for it.

I did the same thing, so it made the job take about twice as long as it should have (still only 30-45 minutes total)

I too didn't want the brake lights to sequence, because I thought for sure that the police would get me for that. Also, someone could say that they didn't know I was stopping, leading to other issues.

I did the Webelectric splice-in version. It was not hard if you just follow directions. The second one only took a few minutes because I knew what I was doing after the first one. They work great, and the only drawback is that it would be difficult to remove and keep them if I sold the car. Then again, mine's and '05 and the harnesses probably wouldn't work on anything else anyway. The PNP version might be a bit easier, but it wasn't worth the extra money for me. I say go for it.

I had a cop tell me that my tails were cool? Wanted to know where I got em'.
I don't believe there are any legal issues.

But I have always wanted to RAM into a camo painted 4x4 and testify that I hit it because I couldn't see it.

Where I live, they will get you for pretty much anything. For example, I know someone that ticketed for his FACTORY tint on his Tahoe, because it was "too dark". But, it is factory (therefore it can't be removed), and it IS legal because it is an SUV, not a car.

Even if the taillights are legal, it does attract officers so that they may get you for something that is illegal (ie-speeding)

I also did the splice kit. As Jim said, it's not hard if you just take your time and follow the directions. The second side is a snap after you figure it all out.
If you have never in your life stripped a wire you may not want to try it. I also soldered mine in, but it is not required. If I had to sell my car and wanted to keep them I would just resolder it back to stock.
Here are pictures of what you get and how the stock wiring looks after you are done splicing.

I'va had the Web Electronics "spliced kit" since March 06, no troubles, took about 30 mins to do both sides. Used the money "not spent" on some MGW pieces.
