Midwest Auto Gear Painted Side Mirror Inserts
Telling everyone whats happening would be nice coming from MAG. As I've been waiting months for the Plenum Cover for the V6. I'm Disappointed. Now they come up with the mirror covers, (great item, Big Market) how much longer will we all have to wait for? As a Marketing Professional I would at least be up front and talk about availability and delivery date. MAG has been nothing but done a poor job about keeping people informed. But since they are the only game in town we keep looking for updates. I really hope someone comes along and provides us what we want with out the hassle and provides timelines.

To tell everyone the Truth would be nice coming from MAG. As I've been waiting months for the Plenum Cover for the V6 and I'm Disappointd. Now they come with the mirror covers, (great item, Big MArket) how much longer will we all have to wait? As a Marketing Major I would be up front to get a feel of the market (BIG MARKET) and then at least have the ***** to confirm availability and delivery date. MAG has been nothing but a loser about keeping people informed and letting us all know about delivery of anything. But since they are the only game in town we keep kissing their hiney. I really hope someone comes along and provides us what we want with out the Bull #$%^

I have noticed that every time somebody shows some new idea, product, or concept everyone jumps on it and wants to know how much and how soon. Then they are bad mouthed if it isn't released right now. I think, as a business owner myself, that most of these companies are honestly trying to make sure the product is "right" before they release it. Heaven forbid they release it with something wrong, because then they go through the riducule again until they get it fixed.
I would rather have it right, even if it takes some time, then right now.
Just my thoughts.

I'm with Jack. Just look at how much money they saved with this topic as opposed to producing a couple hundred of these and having them fail.

Can you imagine the comments if they had released these too soon?

You did read that. They developed the product using 2005 mirrors, but apparently the driver's side for '06 is slightly different. That's why you don't see any photos of the insert on the driver's side of my car just yet, but the final production version of the insert will ship this week.
I spoke with the guys ay Midwest yesterday. The plenum cover for my V6 was supposed to ship two weeks ago - maybe this week it will go out. Regarding the "rear-view mirror inserts" (what he called them!) a pair ought to run about $60.00 and be ready by mid January 2006. They will attach using double sided body tape - like other body attachments. Hope he is correct on the date of availability.
The above complaints weren't so much about how long it was taking for any of these parts, but the fact that no timeline (or any other information for that matter) had been given.
I can be a little patient. I'd much rather wait for them to perfect the piece than to be disappointed by a shoddy product that doesn't fit correctly. I've already got their GT engine cover and it is perfect. I wish more companies would take the time and make the effort to "get it right"!

Throwing some additional "fuel on the fire", checking out the news section of the MAG site, they state they are working on fuel rail covers for the GT and should have pics soon

Exactly. Its the lack of communication and no clear timeline. We, or at least I, wasn't saying that it should be released right now. I'm just saying there should be a stated timeline, and the company should keep in good contact with customers. I've been waiting for these to come out for a long time.
