Robert,
My close friend did a set in matte black to go on his LL 05, and it looked very similar to my original idea of going that route on my own white 05. I think that at some point in the future I will still custom-paint a set where only the outer lip is painted black, with the whole center left unpainted - this will give the transparent look from the inside, but on the outside it will appear black because when you put it on a car with a black interior, it just "absorbs" the interior color, and give it a neat look.
Just a thought if you wanted to play around with the second car a bit I'd post some pictures, but he sent me some really miserable ones from his camera phone at a night show recently...

the new car has Camel, tan interior. Not what we wanted , but at a price i could'nt pass up. The louver thing is an awesome idea. I have the CHR honeycomb panel. Now about the S.H.R. Tru-Billet Rear Medallion, and a 3rd set of louvers, Maybe in flat black, and LL. What other products do you need to get out to all the car show i make! LOL
I have a CDC shaker hood for the GT, if you got any ideas, im open to suggestions. Thanks

we ended up using a nylon rope to cut through the old rubber seal.
i didnt buy the window removal kit, figured i could find something around the shop that would work.
we tried different kinds of wire, then some 45 lb test fishing line, the line worked good, but still broke.
i couldnt believe the nylon rope worked the best.
overall a very easy installation. looks good!!!

Looks real nice Nate, glad they came out so good. Be careful with the temps and side windows until that stuff can cure out real well. Adhesives in general don't like cold temps too much, hence why we keep our CA+ for the fiber optic stuff in the refridgerator at the shop.
Robert, looks real nice, like the "plaque" there! How about some of the new grill inserts for the lower grill we'll have out in a couple weeks? They would help close up the front a little carrying the honeycomb theme to completion. Other than that, the agent 47 mirrors we now carry look real good on the car, and the new ones don't have to be painted, so they can be left in the "matte" black finish they are molded in - saves money, and carries your color pattern properly...
Just a couple ideas - but hey, the car looks great already, so it's not like it "has" to have something more.

That's how I would like them as well. I haven't purchased them for just that reason. I think the black helps break the color up a bit and it needs some black. That's perfect. Paint them like that and I'll buy the first set.

You guys like making work for me don't you?
This is a real shot, not a PS, but it was a one off done at the split line. I don't have any of the new design pieces in stock at the moment, but more are already inbound, so I will take a look and let you know. On the plus side, the plastic now being used is UV stable, so it doesn't need to be painted like the older generation louvers - basically you can leave this area unpainted and be okay, although masking might be a pain if they are not able to be disassembled - again, I'll have to look at this on our next shipment that should arrive in the next couple of days.

No, if at all the same, or possibly more - it's the prep...
I spoke with Agent 47 today, and they can supply the sets unassembled on a special-order basis, but then they have to be painted separate and glued together - to which they said that is the tricky part - too much or too little, and you've got problems...plus you wouldn't want paint in the cavity where the pieces join, so that's more prep to make sure doesn't get screwed up.
So I don't know what the "short" answer is, obviously it is do-able, just a matter of time / money to do it I guess. I like the look as well, but don't know if it is justified in the prep or not.
Who wants to be the guinea pig I guess is the question...

Not yet, but if there are enough orders/ requests, then we could. Ditto for Vapor Silver and the Candy Red, just nobody has requested them yet, so we haven't painted any that color yet...
