Hood Scoop vs. Plain Hood

Hey Cody, You need to post some pictures after you do the install. I've never seen a V6 with a GTAP scoop, let alone one on a V6 PP. I just may have to put one on my wife's V6 PP. She really feel in love with the look of the GTAP scoop I recently added to my GT.

Well I am all over the map here. My wife GTCS did get aftermarket hood and qtr window scoops. She likes the scoop issue. I wanted my car to be scoopless. I held out for 2 years and finally ordered the cervini 67 ram air scoop based on the 67 shelby hood. I am undecided on getting other scoops.

I took mine intoday to be fixed and I am thier first at this dealership so after having my car for a day , We have to order a new scoop, Oh the pain and hastle of it all.and this is what happens to them in a month or so.

My scoop looked exactly like that with the lifted rear corners. I took it to the stealership and the moron told me that they are like that so it wouldn't scratch the paint. Being that I'm short tempered and I was about to strangle that ******...I went home removed it myself and fixed it. If you wanted done right, do it yourself.

I just may as my friend Spence went through it all I described what needed to be done and they had my car for a day only to phone me to say we have to order a new scoop in. Well I'm really beginning to dislike any service now , My time what little of it that I have left I don't really want to waste it ***** footin around because some jerk can't get it together.

I vote for the hood scoop even though I have had a lot of trouble with mine. Worst of all was the paint job which was repainted and still turned out lousy. Next the fit was poor and continued changing because of engine heat and general temperature causing the scoop to flex. That was further agravated by the hold down clips not working correctly. Third time lucky, I've had a bodyshop paint it, scribe and shave the edges to fit the hood exactly plus using double sided tape. It's still going back to the bodyshop for new clips, I'm told that door clips are the way to go because they have teeth which hold better. Barring these headaches the scoop just looks cool. Isn't that what most accessories are for, such as fancy rims, lowering, mufflers etc. Some people say what good are they, they're fake, well I enjoy seeing mine and that's good enough for me.

Who has Chrome Wheels? No chrome option that I can see, at least from the factory.
Louvers = rice. I agree. Just stuff taped up to the side of the car.
Chin spoilers = Not sure, would have to see an air drag test.
In the 60's, hood scoops generally scooped in air and let it out into the air cleaner. That isn't rice. That's the real deal. When you tape all of this crap onto a modern car, you're just trying to imitate. That's the essence of rice.

Rear non-spoiler = rice, I agree. The "spoiler" on GT's is actually a WING. It provides no downforce at all.

For the same reason I'm keeping my 05 GT original as it came from the factory, scoopless. I think your car should reflect what you want it to be. If you want a scoop on your car that's great! But when I've been to Barrett-Jackson, many cars that are restored as they were when they came off the assembly line are highly valued. But as they say "to each his own". Enjoy!!
