Hood Scoop vs. Plain Hood

I saw the scoop install on a white GT and hated it, BUT, I saw a really nice GT/CS in redfire last night with the scoop and it looked good. For now, I'm sticking with the no scoop approach.

Scoop....a qualified definitely as my childhood was warped by the muscle cars of the late '60s....preference is a hood where the scoop is an integral part and doesn't have a tacked/tacky look...I like the hood/scoop combo on my wif'es '04 GT though....

totally agree with the integral part. I wish mine was that way...maybe in the future.

Al, I will be installing a new 07 factory scoop on my 05 as soon as I can get it painted. Any tips to make sure the rear corners fit completely flush? The new scoop has clips in the rear section, that just snap in place. Thanks, Steve

The rear clips wont make it flush unless the plastic is totally aligned. In my case, only the rear corners were not flush. I removed it and used a heat gun to heat up the bottom rear middle part and manipulated/bend it until I got the desired shape, then quickly cooled it off with cold water. Took me about three times until I got the entire scoop to fit flush. I would shape it before getting it painted.

i vote no scoop. It looks too "tacked on" IMO, especially without any side scoops. It seems that ford purposely made the car smooth (no side scoops, no hood scoops), unlike the SN95s.
To me, the car looks better in it's "sleek" stock form.
